Hagler would dominate Joe. I can't think of one thing Joe does better than Hagler to give him a chance. I think Hagler proved himself against the best more times than Joe, too. The fact that Jones and Hopkins floored Joe when past their best makes me think Hagler would be able to hurt Joe, too. Marvin by tko or unanimous decision.
With Calzaghe being a sheepshagger, I should want him to lose, but since you are referring to a 'SRL job', it implies that this is a 1987 Hagler, (Joe was good at beating past prime Americans!) and since Hagler never fought at SMW, I'd go for Joe after a slow start. Under any other circumstances though, one would be crazy to pick Calzaghe over Hagler
Hagler beats the living **** out of Joe and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. But then there are people on here who pick Calzaghe to stop Marciano, which says it all really.
Marvin ****S him up. Joe does NOTHING to prevent Hagler to cut the ring off and beat the living **** out of him... If we're talking PRIME Hagler???..........**** out of here
MMH walked thru the BOMBS thrown by Hearns, JC windmill slaps woould not be enough to keep the Marvelous one off his ass. MMH was the better boxer, better stamina (no one could match his legendary training methods), and more power. Personally I do not think the fight would ever happened. JC was shitting bricks before the Lacey fight and almost backed out and needed the "crown jewels" to face a Prime RJJ. Joe was a smart guy who knew what time it was. He knew his limitations and MMH far exceeded them:bbb
Calzaghe by wide decision. Hagler is a great fighter, but Joe would really give him a good going over. too strong, too fast, too good. Hagler gets overrated like crazy on here, and Joe gets shitted on. bitter, bitter people. at the clowns that think Hagler is coming anywhere near to stopping Joe. idiots. this is an easy pick as well. Joe all day every day.
OK there grandpa. I'm sure even marvelous himself would admit that he'd lose to joe. Calz was 180 come fight time whereas hagler was maybe 162-63. So, you're telling me that even though big ass hopkins, who was 185 the night he fought Calz, couldn't push Joe back but 20+ lbs lighter Hagler would? you've only bias for your "analysis" not fact. Log off you drunk old fu-k.
@ Beouche just because you disagree with an answer doesn't mean it's a "troll" response. What I said was as honest as anyone can be! Joe Calzaghe has dick riders who know nothing about boxing and come from England. Tell me that isn't true.
I love how people who dont know any better think Joe was actually a real fighter! He was a money grabber. A fake a fraud. He won a worthless WBO belt and defended it against 5 guys coming off losses!
I'm not from england and i forgot more about boxing than you ever have or ever will know, and i actually think this is a ridiculous thread because i'll bet even Hagler himself, who's always been honest about the fight game and it's combatants, would admit that he'd lose to joe. Calz isn't your favorite fighter, i get it, but your analysis is based purely on that. If you have a convincing analysis on WHY you think a 162 lb Hagler walks thru a 180 lb Joe like some bar drunk or one of your pals then i'd love to hear it. Until then, you're just trolling like the other guy said.
