Naz by devastating KO. Pep has the skill, but not the power. Naz has the skill AND the power.

would just like to point out that Barrera's trainer was in the corner for Jose Badillo and had the same tactics (make Naz come to you and counter because Naz was a natural counter puncher who liked to go on the back foot)

But Naz was in his prime then and actually had a great jab with which he used to bust up and dominate Badillo with. when Naz was a bit worn and lacking any focus what so ever, the plan was going to be put to better use by a better technical fighter in Barrera. the rest is history.

prime Naz would beat any version of Barrera.

oh, and it wasn't the beat down everyone likes to claim either. i had it by 3 points to Barrera.

Pep lost 3 of the 4 bouts he had with Saddler and Saddler wasn't a great boxer skill wise but he had great power. Old school fighters like Pep get to much hype. There is little footage of the guy but because some old timer said he was great then he must of been right.

I heard he won a round without throwing a single punch.

Sadler was a great in his own right and those fights came after a severe injury he got in a plane crash. If Barrera can outbox Naz then Pep humiliates him for 12 rounds, its great having power but useless if you cant land it.

Against Saddler he lost by ko the first time. Outboxed him over 15 the second fight. Third suffered a seperatred shoulder and the fourth was to hampered by a bad cut. Alkl of these fights took place after a bad plane crash...

To Shadow11, this story about Pep winning a round without throwing a punch was told 25 years after that fight against Jackie Graves happened.

Here's some interesting articles on the subject :

edit : simply copy/paste what's after the two // in your adress bar.

Lol I didn't need to be there. How can you win a round with out landing a punch? I don't care if the other guy threw 1000 punches and you made him miss them all how could you win a round if you did nothing but run and avoid being hit without landing a punch yourself.

That myth is just something old timers tell idiots to make it seem like fighters from their era were better.

Because you also score rounds based on ring generalship and defence...

    Do you even understand boxing?

the no punch round definatley never happened, burt sugar b.s. i think it started with a pep joke that he could.

naz might ko pep early one in a hundred, bad style matchup

hes got a better chance to beat saddler, one in, 25 or so
