Anthony Joshua to go pro in the next few weeks!

I don't think he will turn pro yet, 1 more Olympics i think.

 

if he signs with apb Joshua can still enter Olympics with automatic qualification

 

Anthony definitely has the world at his feet right now! I assume he must be weighing up his options before committing and making a decision that could shape the rest of his life!
No doubts that he will be a success when he turns over

 

good luck to the lad, personally I think he needs more experience he hasn't been boxing that long when you think about it. He'll be matched as carefully as wilder for first couple of years he turns pro.

Wasn't the same thing being said about Audley? With the robberies at the olympics Joshua has been set up for a massive fall.

 

Joshua didn't deserve a medal in the Olympics. If it wasn't held in London savon would have been put though and would have won.

Not Joshuas fault but tbh we know he lost he knows he lost everyone watching live knew he lost. **** me ask my nan she would tell you!!!

Its ok though I can't see him getting past British if he even makes it.

Now young fury is on the scene any chance Josh has has pretty much gone out the window
Fury has really impressed me and unfortunatly Josh imo can't compete

 

The hate is laughable.

The fact he's achieved what he is with such inexperience is quality, in fact even reaching the world championships and making the olympics considering he only took up the sport 3/4 years beforehand deserves praise.

With regards to facing Hughie Fury further down the line, they seem to be quite friendly with one another.

Joshua tweeted Fury the other the day wishing him good luck for this weekend.

 

I hope he does.Will be a terrific prospect,how can he not be?I thought the world championship final was close,maybe he nicked it for me.Also the Olympic final.Only one I thought he lost was to Savon,and then not by a lot.I just hope he turns pro,and stays with the same manager/trainers,and has at least 5 fights a year to start with.Audley was a loose cannon,did his own thing.An underachiever but not a failure as a pro.Josh can learn from his mistakes.I think Joe Joyce would be decent also.

 

I agree that the hate is unjustified. He needs to make his decision and stick to it. The lad has a good attitude and is very marketable in the UK and beyond.

 

Yes hating Joshua himself is unfair, but hating the corrupt judging system of amateur and olympic boxing, and home bias is completely warranted and should be encouraged. It needs to be changed.
He's a great prospect and best of luck to him in his pro career, but if the Olympics were not in London he would not have a gold. He lost that fight.
The system is at fault, not the kid.

 

Just because he was fortunate in one or even 2 decisions why does this make him not a good prospect?Hes been competitive with the best amateurs in the world,and done brilliantly.Hes British,a decent lad apparently.Compare his success with Dave Prices,who,whatever anybody says,has had success as a pro.IMO more next month.

 

Lost to Savon by about 8 points for me. Against the gook fella that was his most impressive performance of the games where he won by around 2 or 3 points. Should have been by more but the ******ed one point for a knock down rule was in place. Dyhcko, close fight and outside of Britain could have gone the other way. Cameralle, lost by about 2 points. All in all probably the most undeserving Olympic gold medalist ever and yes i'm well aware of that Korean fella.

The whole event was rather sickening and unpleasant really from what I can remember. Where a bunch of casuals and Z-list 'celebrities' were hailing this stiff as the new Ali and gave zero regard for his opposition or how he 'won' the medal. It was a farce really, a real black eye for boxing which culminated in with some German, Celebrity, billionaire family handing Tony G some freakish and dehumanizing royal title.

As for the future as a pro? He can go far. We don't know much about his chin, stamina or heart but he seems to be a literal clone almost of Robert Helenius. A fighter like that can always build a good record up if he's matched well.

 

He was lucky, but it was hardly the biggest robbery you will ever see.

Rather if it is, someone has never seen Jones Jr/Park Si-Hun; now that was a robbery! Jones won a Silver medal and yet still won the Val Barker...

 

Well Savon may have won that if he wasn't knocked out at the first round.
