De La Hoya vs Mayweather both in prime who wins?

Oscar's size , style, power, speed, jab, overall boxing skills is a rough fight for Floyd. You saw a glimpse of that when they fought in 07. Oscar was way past it, Floyd was in his prime, and he troubled Floyd quite a bit. He wins a clear UD over Floyd prime for prime imo.

 

I wouldnt be too confident in Floyd's 0 against DLH's resume...

 

LET'S get this straight for a minute. Floyd beat an over the hill oscar but oscar was the man at that time. Pac came came a year later and demolished oscar at 147, not 154 a year earlier but 147 a year later, and pacman gets credit for beat odh. Bull****!!!

 

Oscars advantage was his size. Floyd was moving up. Take his size advantage away with each in the same weight class and Floyd schools him

Prime for prime, Oscar hardly lands a shot on possibly one of the greatest defensive boxers who ever lived.

I used to think De La Hoya but the more I have watched Mayweather who I respect as a fighter but cannot stand as a human being the more I think Mayweather would find a way to win.

De La Hoya tended not to perform well in the big fights, usually due him being not the most intelligent fighter in the ring. His fights against Whitaker, Moseley, Quartey all showed an inability to fights with the right strategy or adjust mid fight when struggling.

He should have been more aggressive against Tito when after several rounds it was clear he was the better fighter. He should have boxed and been less aggressive which cost him in the first Moseley fight. He never came across to me as a fighter who could go much beyond plan A to win a fight.

I hate to say it but Mayweather wins on points can't see what De La Hoya could do differently to overcome Mayweather superior boxing skills and ring intelligence.

 

Nobody gives manny credit for his stoppage victory over delahoya . He does not deserve praise for that win . I respect Floyds win over oscars , Not Mannys .

 

With 10oz gloves and Oscar having a 15-20lb weight advantage. :deal

 

I respect Oscar and think in his prime that he would have beaten Pac but floyd is all wrong for him.
