This fight may happen in the future who would you have youre money on?
I give the edge to Martinez, if he comes back form his injuries and is in decent form, Sergio one last hurrah wins this I believe.

Sergio is bigger faster and hits harder than Trout a guy Canelo went neck and neck with, the similarity for me is Sergio like Trout is a lefthanded counterpuncher but Sergios speed and leg play and power much greater than Trout.

    Thought opinions?

Depends on Martinez' injuries. Void refused to fight Martinez at 150!

Martinez slaps him around and potentially stops him in heatter rounds. Alverez is to basic, stiff, robotic, and obvious. Mayweather will end up outpointing him as well, just wknt beat him up as badly as Sergio

Martinez is done at this point that I wouldn't be surprised if Alvarez, who is unproved at 160, wins.

A "good" fighter doesn't perform the way he did against Williams x2, Chavez Jr. and Pavlik. Whoever judges Martinez based on his last fight and only that is just another fool. Guess we might as well judge Ali based on his performance against Holmes, Foreman against Holyfield, Leonard against Camacho and many more.

Hard fight to call... i would slightly lean towards Martinez . But Martinez has a bad tendency to ALWAYS get CAUGHT and suffer a knockdown . The thing is if Canelo connects on Martinez , hes going to be in serious trouble , Canelo has enough pop to make him stay down for good . Sergio has been knocked out before so it can happen again .

shouldn't this question be directed the exact opposite way? has Canelo beaten anyone of the caliber of a Pavlik or a Willams????

would Canelo at 160 beat a Prime Pavlik?

How has Canelo managed to get himself this tag of being some kind of monstrous power puncher?

If they fought at 150 you would say he was drained if he lost. It'd be a great fight but why do you expect Floyd to fight middleweights?

At this point in their careers Martinez beats Canelo 7-5 but loses on the cards.
