Lets not dodge Carl Froch was losing on points with 30 sec to go against Taylor and won a real champion never gives up during 12 rounds.
the only people doubting Gonzalez were people posting on here like you not me or Ricky!:good

You can't really blame people for underestimating Gonzalez but watching some footage in the build up it was clear the lad could fight a bit, the standard of WBO mandatory's hasn't been great over the years, although that may have been due to a certain promoters ties with them, lets face it, if Burns was still with this promoter then the gonzalez fight probably wouldn't have been forced.

Almost everybody was Rossco,so you're in the majority. Not claiming to be any kind of expert, but I was in the minority.Didnt know him,but looked at his record, how he'd won his fights, and where he came from.History told me the rest.Other members said he was a crude slugger, looked at you tube and couldn't see it.The Burns fight proved he was anything but.Nice to be proved right sometimes.

No that's not the case,as far as I'm aware if Ricky wasn't to box Vasquez it would have been Gonzalez as he was the mandatory

Fair Enough Billy, although Frank did criticize the fight afterwards and questioned why Eddie made it? That could be him being bitter though and mouthing off.

    True mate.
I watched Gonzalez on youtube, his ability was obvious, it was his level of comp that had me thinking Burns would win easily, i thought the step up in class would shock Gonzalez. I think Gonzalez could be Gem in the making, he reminded me of a Cuban boxer the way he moved.

The Gonzalez test was good for Burns, especially if he gets Vasquez next. Both Gonzalez and Vasquez are classy, awkward, counter punchers, who are content in just stealing rounds.
