Which of those fights (if any) were stopped prematurely?

Neither. If you had to argue one maybe Lopez, but he was eating some serious bombs and not doing much in return. People want to see the ref let these guys go because they're warriors, but the ref's job is to protect their health at some point.

lopez was absorbing those right hands from round one.

you could tell that he was hurt form the first knockdown because he took the full eight before attempting to get up.

Was at the Lopez fight and no it wasnt stopped premature that was a sharp ref last night Josesito took some flush bombs from Maidana he went limp for a moment and that would have given Maidana a clean free shot that could have done serious damage to Lopez good stoppage.

    Neither were bad.

Dawson was basically gone... and might well have been hurt bad by the follow up.

Personally, I would have liked to see Lopez given a few more seconds there, just because he is such a tough kid and might have been able to weather that storm and escape the round.... We've seen him do it in the past.

But, I still wouldn't call it an early stoppage... He was getting tagged, and not really throwing back or trying to grab on.

both were good stopages, particularly Maidana-Lopez, as the ref had moments to decide whether or not to do it, even one of the guys on Showtime (can't remember who) said something like "it's better to stop it one punch early than one punch too late"

I feel Lopez stoppage was premature, but I had $20 on Lopez. I almost thought the ref
was gonna stop the fight earlier when Lopez had Maidana in trouble against the ropes.
Lopez wasn't firing back though. Mad talent in Lopez hope he gets another good fight and wins.
Dawson was ****ed up, leaning against the ropes. Dawson may be shot, he almost got hit
with that counter a minute before, then bam. If that fight went on Dawson could have been seriously hurt, he didn't protest the stoppage from what I remember.
