i love spoon and he in his best night could beat great fighters, but louis was not one of them, louis had the perfect style to destroy boxer-punchers like spoon and larry holmes.

Witherspoon would have given any heavyweight problems when he was well trained and motivated.

I reckon you aren't far off the mark with that summation. I watched the Holmes-Witherspoon fight recently and noticed Tim blocking Holmes's jab by basically having the right hand glued to his chin. He was open to the left hook, and Louis would exploit this. Larry only tried it a few times and landed his hook.

I agree Spoon was a good, solid fighter, though and it wouldn't be a mismatch.

A well-trained and motivated Tim Witherspoon would be well-clubbed and demotivated by the Brown Bomber.

Louis...most highly skilled hwt champion who ever lived vs a leading contender with no real all time great skills.

Different class of fighter. If the best Louis walks into the ring its no contest. Louis on an off night and he may be extended beyond 6 or 7 rounds.
