You're ignoring the Victor Conte factor in this fight.
Angulo didn't do anything different. He still coming forward blocking punches with his face. But his weight gain and stamina were the difference.
The guy is sure strong and hits hard but he didn't fade this time like he was doing against silva and like he did against Kirkland.
If somebody here believes that Virgil is a better trainer than Nacho, check again.
    Conte was the difference.

i dont know if hes shot or he had other problems, but that is the worse i have ever seen him. he was slower than ive ever seen him, he looked weaker in the clinches than ive ever seen him and he could not shake off the lighter punches like ive seen before. him putting lara down was not something i expected to see after watching angulo look so bad the first few rds.

Lara doesn't suck at all, he's a very good fighter. Not a truly exceptional, P4P level fighter, but a world class operator nonetheless.

No need to go overboard on the criticism just because some people are overrating the hell out of him.

He would murder Cotto, I think Miguel should face Ishe Smith there is a title against a guy who is closer to his size and his age in terms of the sport its a better fight for him.

I would like to see Kirkland vs Lara go down Southpaw vs Soutpaw Power puncher brawler vs Slick Dirty tricks boxer the contrast of styles and considering how Angulo was allowed to get inside and work make this for a great fight.

:good:good I have no idea why people cry about what a fighter puts on after the fact, sometimes that **** can backfire. well it does allot of times you cut down in weight like that knowing your body cant handle it you put your life at risk in doing so as well as the fight itself.

as long as they do it legit of course its not and shouldnt be a problem but there are some fans who like to ***** and moan about it.

angulo has no skills unlike the boxers you mentioned, so being a shot punching bag it makes this even worse, like i said he went to hell with an unknown welterweight, and even know he showed good stamina, that shouldnt been enough to make this competitive, lara took too much punches that he shouldnt, but then again that is just my opinion and unlike you i respect yours and wont ask you to stop posting...

that injury was caused by Lara's 300 punches to Angulo's face.

    no skills?

he has a 72 percent ko ratio with ko wins over guitterez, rivera, Rosado, Julio and alcine.

almost had Kirkland out of there as well. lara, too

how does angulo not have skill?

hes was a bigger version of margorito.

    did Antonio not have skills?

at one point, margo was the most avoided fighter at 147 simply because nobody wanted to deal with a guy that would throw 900+ punches in a fight.

It's all good papo, as passionate fans of the sport, we do tend to get a little emotional at times. Let's just not go over board though, leave that to the real idiots.

I agree though, by no means was Lara cheater here, even if that was a thumbing, it was not intentional.

The consensus here @ Boxing24 formally known as Eastsideboxing agree that if you dont fight like a Slick boxer a Mayweather or a Whitaker type or a Martinez or Broner type if your a banger and you come forward and make it a fight an all out brawl well then you just have no skills...:-(

Obviously people who have been around a bit know better as that is also skills, However its simply just a different style but rather than to admit that rather than to admit there is actually skill in what they do with their style they discredit them and suggest they have **** for skills because they do not apply the slick hit and dont get hit method

i consider his power a gift not a skill, he has no defense and he fights in slow motion, and his gift was taken away after the kirkland fight, him having the power he had pre-jail would stop lara just with left hooks, which by the way i was surprised how lara couldnt deal with it all night... to land over 100 left hooks and not knock the other guy out tells you how his power is gone..

    This is complete nonsense!

You do NOT get two knockdowns on a guy as skilled as Lara from just "coming forward". Angulo was cutting that ring off like a HOF Pressure Fighter. He was forcing Lara into meaningless exchanges, forcing Lara to literally jog out of range, and trapping Lara while pounding his liver. Angulo never used his KO power in this fight. It was a methodical grinding down of a sharper fighter.

Before you try to say that I am anti-Lara, I have been a Lara supporter since his debut. I am also a notorious Brawler hater. I was there and was one of the ONLY Lara fan in the stands. I though Angulo was a bum. I have to face the facts though, Angulo + Hill made MASSIVE improvements. Angulo fought the smartest fight available to him given how mismatched he was in the skill, athleticism, speed, timing, etc... departments. Water into wine man! :deal

How in the hell do you guys call yourselves Boxing fans and not see this?
