Gavin Rees vs Anthony Crolla

Rees by late KO or big point win

 

If crolla fights smart and stays at range, Anthony close points win.
If he doesnt and goes toe to toe with Gav then Rees by stoppage.

I think the latter will happen as Crolla loves to scrap too much..

 

Gavin has boxed at a much higher level than Anthony and that will ultimately tell, stoppage for Gavin he be to quick on the outside and to strong on the inside.
if Anthony doesn't come out the blocks quick and try to match Gavin I can see it being a very long night for him.

Crolla at his best would have half a chance, no more than that. Crolla fighting in this style will get minced.

Rees is a really underrated operator IMO, deceptively skilful, gritty.... not world class in a million years but a really solid domestic to European class fighter with a few decent wins under his belt.

Losing to the likes of Kotelnik and Broner ain't anything to be ashamed of.

 

Rees should win comfortably he does pretty much everything better and seems to have massive heart

 

Rees should win this but it will depend how much the beating from Adrien Broner has taken out of him.
I've never seen anybody handle Gavin Rees with such ease!!

 

The state of derry after rees stopped him tells me that crolla needs a miracle. I know the old 'fighter A beats fighter B' argument is never one to build a concrete call upon, i just cant see rees losing. Good luck to both.

 

if Crolla boxes at range and establishes his jab for the first 6 and stays out of the way i believe he can win on points, even a late stoppage to the body.

If he stands in front of Gavin he will get beat.

People have short memories.......John Watson gave Rees nightmares and hes not exactly got better since that night......just older. Crolla dealt with Watson with ease. I think this fight is closer than people think.

Cant wait for it.

Rees wins this comfortably, simply the better fighter by a distance, should be fun though.

All things considered what he said isnt a bad shout. Crolla does have the tools to box well off the back foot and can fight at a decent tempo too. Whether he does or not and/or whether Rees is simply too strong is another thing.

 

Well that confirms his blind optimism when it comes to Crolla. You think Rees chance of winnijg is based soley on strength Dan? Rees is the far more complete boxer of the two.
more skilled, better chin, power, stronger etc.

Also think Crollas confidence has took a big knock, he looked scared to get hit last time out against Derry.

 

I dont think Rees is 'by far' the more complete boxer to be honest pal. I actually think Crolla's a very tidy boxer however I genuinely believe he should not be at Lightweight though.

All things considered Rees is rightly the favourite however its nowhere near as one sided as some people are making it out to be (IMO :good)

With regards to Crolla's confidence, maybe so or maybe he just thought the tactics may be better (or Gallagher did). I genuinely believe he's better than Matthews and should have just gone into the rematch knowing that but being wary of being over confident like the first fight.

As with a few Gallagher fighters, I do think he's regressed somewhat over the last year or so.

Are you unable to read......i just said if Crolla stands in front of rees he gets beat. Crollas my mate and i think hes got a chance IF he doesn't get involved early on.
