Visa problems one month away from the fight that calls off the fight? Usually "visa problems" happen the week before the fight. If it's cancelled now, expect Hopkins vs. __________ to be announced shortly after.
Something else must be at play here. The visa issue thing makes no sense as pointed out above. Unless Murat is on some automatic deny list and cannot legally enter the country.
They really need to get these issues in order before they sign the ****in contract. Its obnoxious how many fights get cancelled or postponed because of Visa problems. Get the visa before you sign for the fight.
I'm not sure you can, in the U.S. and probably most or all countries. This isn't a tourist visa, it's a work visa -- they have to be able to prove that they have business in the U.S. to apply for a visa to fight in the U.S. And without a contract, they can't just tell customs "I'm planning on fighting Bernard Hopkins when I'm there" and get a visa. I know of a case or two of people being admitted into the U.S. on work visas and they have the paperwork that proves they have a job lined up -- in this case a contract to fight.
