Why all the question of Fury's toughness

Have you not heard his accent? It's hardly your traditional Mancunian.

 

He wouldn't be in this sport nor travel so early in his career to make an impression if he wasn't tough. As much as I hate his very existence, that can't be denied.

 

Tell that to ****ing Ike 'The President' Ibeabuchi' (Or Atomic Bull). stfu and fall back.

 

Tyson fury never saw a bucket he didn't try to **** in.

 

He may be tough, but he is such a clumsy buffoon in the ring his toughness doesn't help. He has zero athleticism, he's terribly uncoordinated and just looks bad in the ring.

 

After the Haye fight most on here will say "I told you he was just a big tall bum" and the fuss will die right down.

He don't want to risk Pulev...so is cashing in now - against Haye. Why else is this fight happening? ££££'s..Kerrrching!!

 

Disagree with your comparison in power with Haye - David for me has a lot more pop.

But I do agree with what your saying about his punch resistance. I don't think there is an issue. He's never been truly hurt, when he was decked by those shots he was squared up and thats the main reason he went over.

But that is also the reason why I think he shouldn't fight Haye just yet. If you square up to the right hand like he's currently doing, that's a recipe for disaster against Haye.

 

There's an interview with Tyson and his dad, and they were living in a caravan and talked about how important their heritage is for them

There's also an early interview with Tyson on English tv, and the host asked Tyson why his dad's boxing nickname was 'gypsy' and Tyson very sheepishly and almost embarrassingly admitted he was irish traveler. If he was just putting up a facade like u say, he wouldn't be so embarrassed to admit he was a traveler

 

Accept your criticism. Perhaps you're right, certainly travellers don't stop being so just because they've settled. I ain't researched deeply enough perhaps, but Tyson (Luke) has said himself he doesn't really associate with the traveller community.

And with regards to being a Manc, well I'm one. We're fukkers for supporting our own, but I think Tyson's got his eye on the bigger prize, PPV and the American (specially American Irish) fanbase - who love a romantic backstory.

If you can provide more complete information on Lukes background, I would actually be happy. I would love to support the guy, specially as a fellow Manc, but I basically see a big charming fukker with C-level talent but A-level bull****.

Props to him, we're all trying to make the £s - but don't tell me he's a world class boxer.

He chooses to call himself Tyson Fury and unlike Muhammed Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marco Huck, Felix Sturm etc. etc. he was actually BORN with that name too :huh

As for not being 6'9 ... He is visibly at least a couple of inches taller than Wladimir Klitschko and appears noticeably taller than 6'8 David Price from the footage of their amateur fight. He also posed with a New York Jets basketball player whose official height is 6'8 and was taller than him. Are you getting worked up over a centimetre here?!

Does anyone REALLY care if he is 6'8.5 or 6'9 or 6'10 ... He is bigger than any Top 50 heavyweight he'll face, so it is irrelevant :good

He is also from traveller lineage and background as evinced from everything fom his spelling to his huge clan's misdemeanours with the law including his Dad and Uncle being jailed for 20 years between them.

He boxed for Ireland and his cousin is the incredibly Irish Andy Lee.

More than happy to watch if we could but link. Think about it yourself tho. You think they couldn't have arranged a video interview in different surroundings? Perhaps the TV crew turned up at their caravan all unexpected?

It's called publicity - propaganda - manufacturing an idea for public consumption. Perhaps 'self-promotion' sounds less cynical?

Indeed. I am basically being petty. I've spent an entire day hungover (and more latterly drunk), and in a bad mood due to having missed the Kovalev fight last pm (I got the day wrong). I've no real problem with Tyson (or Luke:smooch), don't rate him, don't hate him. As I've said before, I hope he achieves what he's seeking.

I will, respectfully, bow out, before I annoy anyone any further.

 

I think questons about his toughness are fair if he keeps lining up cruiserweights to fight.
