Then its about time you guys admit that Geale is it in primarly for the money and not his legacy.

Not at all , Geale went to Germany to get a title twice if it was just about the money then he would have scurried back down under and defended just the one Title forever and a day v third rate fighters , IMO Geale and his team have got it bang on , they have the prestige of unifying two top four ABC titles then they avenged his loss to Mundine for mega bucks ( family secure for possibly life ) now he is attempting to get back up in the proper race by fighting a nifty fighter like Barker before ( if successful ) a tilt at unifying the division . I know you know your **** when it comes to boxing but even you can take off the hater goggles for five mins it comprehend this ? .

u r very naïve in what u r harping on about imo.

if u r putting your life on the line every time u enter the ring, u may as well get paid as much as possible.

its hard to make good money if u don't hold a title. and few do hold a proper title.

so whats the rush in fighting the high p4p guys?

its not easy to beat those fighters u know. and its a rare thing having these elite fighters facing each other fight after fight.

about time u dropped your agenda, and learn to enjoy the ride of a pretty decent ozzy fighter.

@Josey, KT didnt bother with a rematch against Vince Phillips, he focus'd on winning titles and unifiying a division and today is a very very wealthy man because of it. I think if Geale has the goods why mess about with peanuts. 2 mill isnt going to set him up for life, he wouldnt have even pocketed a full 2 mill and homes in sydney are not cheap. he would be left with perhaps 1 mill and even though it sounds nice its not enough to set you up for life. If anything putting him in with Barker lines him up for a shot at Martinez.

@Buster, if i hated Geale why did i support him for his two fights in Germany? Why was i rooting for him to win? and just a FYI, i dont hate the guy, he was an outstanding amateur and he is a good pro, just not an exciting one thats all.

You're in a fantasy world if you think most if not all fighters are not.

Even the most highest paid fighter in the world cares more about the green, even if he doesn't really need to..and has never made a secret of the fact.

Though I can't see Geale getting paid that much for this fight..it's a risky fight and I don't imagine the money would be spectacular.

I would have thought Shaw would have slotted Geale as the co-main, not the headliner...I don't think he will get much a crowd unless he stacks the undercard with some local talent or some Ricans.

Any rumours in who will be on it Kegs?

I had a squizz at GSP's webstie yesterday but it's hard to tell who is actually still with him..I swear a lot of those guys have jumped shipped a while ago.

it seems a lot of talk is going on about the Geale/GGG fight that never was... i think you should give it a rest now. it is boring isn't it?

i don't blame Geale for taking the money fight with Mundine. it's like when Haye took on Harrison for 5 million pounds. who would turn down that sort of money? exactly. plus is was a revenge mission for Geale. he's put that to bed now.

if anyone wants to accuse Geale of ducking a GGG fight, then it would have to the time AFTER the Mundine fight. it could have been easily set up, but Geale was happy to take on another meaningless fight with Soliman because he was the number 1 with the IBF. but that could have been easily pushed to the side as the sanctioning bodies allow this to be skipped if a unification fight is set up. GGG with the WBA. Geale with the IBF. GGG wanted the fight, but Geale sure as hell didn't. no one can even begin to dispute this. after everything that has gone on between the two sides, surly, if Geale wanted to prove to the world that he wasn't scared of GGG and was confident of a win as he claims, then he would have shut everybody up. this did not happen.

GGG wasn't going to sit around and wait for a fight with Geale that may never happen. that would be silly to any right thinking person. he wanted the best in the division (those that weren't scared to face him) so in came Macklin.

but i don't think it really matters now anyway. it's clear that HBO want to set up the winners from both fights to face each other in America. so if Geale is the real deal, he'll be proving it very soon. he won't have much choice. because if he refuses to fight GGG (if he beats Macklin and Geale beats Barker) then he will look like a coward who doesn't want anything to do with the man. his career in the middleweight division will be as good as finished anyway. he'd never be able to live it down

personally, i think the two winners will face each other and we'll get a little bit closer to finding out who is the best middleweight in the world. Martinez would then fight the winner of all that in a mega showdown.

    just my two cents.

Brunker will be on the card, according to a Sydney radio station. No opponent named.

Jhonthan Romero IBF 122 Pound Champ will be making his 1st title defense on the card vs TBA.
The 3rd HBO bout has yet to be announced.

Shaw's roster is very thin no doubt...hard to blame boxers going other directions.
He would be 1 of the last US promoters I would advise a boxer to go with.

His pull is diminishing...He tries to act like a PPV promoter with an ESPN stable and I think he just can't put on the shows to make him an enticing option for the networks or fighters.

He was a medium sized fish a couple of years ago but he is getting gobbled up by the bigger guys.

I'm wondering is the plan from HBO to match the Golovkin-Macklin and Geale-Barker winners ? Seems the logical thing to do.
