    I was just thinking about this recently, but can someone explain to me why Pacquiao seemed to open up the suspicion on steroids in boxing?

    I mean, why wasn't this an issue in the 70's, 80's, and 90's when it was clearly going on in other sports and must have been going on in boxing as well.

    Was it just that the internet wasn't as prevalent?

    Why didn't people get suspicious with the baseball stuff?

    Boxing has such a long history of shady people, why wouldn't we assume that every Panama Lewis fighter used?

    Surprised in all the years I've been in boxing, never spoke to Lewis. But, from the TV documentaries, he's as unrepentant a low life as there is.

    Probably career sparring partners could say a lot about PEDs and questionable tactics and preparations

    these guys have been in with a bunch of top fighters and seen everything and could probably use the financial reward since they dont get it in the ring probably

    its my theory on how roid rumors start in other sports, some journeyman player gets traded or released and picked up a few times by several teams and sees what goes on in the locker room and the weight room

    i gotta wonder how many of the accusations are true since its such a tight knit fraternity where guys rub elbows with the same people or are friends with guys who know what goes on in other teams camps

    Just 2 reasons:

    1- seems that until the '80s peds weren't even illegal, they weren't tested at all, so everyone was free to take wathever they liked, how much they liked, from the '30s;

    2- at those times, boxing was popular only in america, and boxers from some place of the earth weren't even allowed to enter a ring;
    Since americans fighters started losing, *some* american fans started yelling at non- american fighters;
    but they never ever had the slightest problem with peoples like evan field, Tyson, or the bulked Tim Bradly, etc..
