Who thinks cleverly can beat kovalev

  1. Right it looks like its done announcement tomorrow it seems

But it seems virtually no one fancies cleverly

Personally I think cleverly is underrated and kovalev COULD be overrated as we have seen any number of punchers fail when stepping up in class

I have cleverly a favourite and I'm bold enough or stupid enough to say here and now that his superior jab, variety and work rate will prevail, also I don't know the reach of each fighter but cleverly fights big and has underrated strength as long as he doesn't ship too many stupid shots he should get the shot in the arm his career needs.kovalev can be his lacy or bute,a feared overseas opponent who was ultimately overhyped and beaten

    Who have you got

I agree, much harder to call than some people are making out. Cleverly is underrated for me. Kovalev does look very good though.

This is a good fight, fair play to Frank for putting Clev in with such a dangerous opponent.

I think it's gonna be just as memorable and exciting as Ricky Burns v Miguel Vazquez and Dereck Chisora v Deontay Wilder.

    WARRRR FW PROMOTIONS!!!

  5. Yeah good point early days considering but Nathan needs this fight even a good showing despite losing would improve his standing as at the moment he is the epitome of paper champion

Also if frank delivers these 3 shows Gavin vassell,Saunders Ryder and cleverly kovalev he will receive the due respect

Aren't the Gavin and Saunders fights under Queensbury? He's happy enough to tell everyone that isn't his company, so he won't be getting the credit. George and Francis will.

  7. I ain't got a clue but we all know different don't we,queensbury promotions is a front used for convenience when necessary like credit, licenses etc
That's what most second businesses are for isn't it?

It is indeed, but he can't have it both ways. If he wants the credit, he has his company to promote from, if he wants the business benefits he gains from transferring the name of the company to his sons, and then uses his sons to talk up the company adn act as if they are running it, then they can have the credit. We all know Daddy is behind the curtain pulling the strings, but at the end of the day FW Promotions has put on next to nothing of note all year.

    Kovalev is getting Lacy'd!

Only joking but I do see it being close, I rate Cleverly higher than most, but I will have to see more of Kovalev to make a judgement on it

Cleverly is a bit of an enigma. He's certainly devalued and underrated on here, but thats mainly down to what people perceive as undeserved praise and in particular being described as a 'World Champion' constantly by his promoter.

Clev gets a lot of **** because of his past opponents. I'm not a big fan but the guy is under rated and I think he gives any light heavy trouble

I agree Cleverly is getting somewhat underrated now, due to his cherrypicking.
I favor him over Cloud, Shumenov and slightly over that Spanish dude. I even think he has a reasonable chance to beat B-Hop at his advanced age. But be fair here, Kovalev is at least a level above him.

Based on what? Cleverly may be the "cherry picker champion" but he's obviously more talented and still has a better record than Kovalev, how can you say he is "at least" a level above based on KOing White and let's face it, a disinterested, ring rusty Campillo?

I say it's just typical British inferiority complex, Clevery is the favourite here
