Kovalev shouldn't fight Cleverly in the UK, he should wait for B-Hop to vacate title

To me, it seems just a reasonable logic.
A belt means more than a victory against someone who isn't as know or as rewarding as Hopkins.

Maybe you are just the one too much searching for colours...

I don't know if Hopkins-Kovalev happens anyways with Hopkins being with GBP/Showtime and Kovalev being courted by HBO, thats if Hopkins even wants Kovalev which I'm skeptical he does.

Kovalev could go to England and pick up a title and HBO exposure by fighting Clevely, its a good move for him and I'm surprised Cleverley's on board. He's an ok fighter and if it goes the distance he could get a hometown decision but I think Kovalev ko's a game but overmatched Cleverly if it happens.

I think what HBO wants with grabbing Kovalev and possiblly Stevenson is to build up challengers for Ward. Ward is going to be one of HBO's key fighters and he'll probably move up to 175 and HBO would love to have guys like Kovalev and Stevenson looking like beasts when they challenge Ward.
