Both fighters are near the end and this would be a pretty big payday for both I could see it happening. I also wouldn't be shocked if Cotto fights Alvarez or a Mayweather rematch if he wins his September fights.

I personally have little interest in this fight since Martinez should be a big favorite but it would do well financially.

I don't think the Showtime/HBO situation matters here because I don't think Cotto is under contract to Showtime and he's not a GBP fighter either.

Cotto is not with Showtime. Cotto is a promotional free agent and is able to make his own moves. He has used GBP to help promote his previous 2 fights, but he is not signed.

158 catchweight maybe? The WBC is running out of patience with Martinez and his empty schedule, read something at the Scene...

Sergio is out for the rest of the year.

reinjured his knee and broke his hand, the same injuries that jr inflicted on him.

he has maybe two more big fights left in his broken body.

cotto will not be one of them.

Must have missed where I said he had a contract with them.

All I said was he's with showtime.

I still think Martinez has enough to put Cotto away.

How did Martinez go from most feared to shot to **** in one fight?

    Boxing fans are so unforgiving.

I doubt he fights Cotto. I really want Martinez to fight GGG to end all that ****ing hype about GGG. It's to early to call Martinez shot to **** based on the Murray fight, maybe Murray is good. HBO needs to make and push for GGG before Martinez retires.

The one thing I know is true is that Martinez Cotto thread won't go as long as Martinez Mayweather thread a few years back.
