Proffesional boxing is a buisness not a sport!

He fought Harrison because everyone wanted to see it! Chisora for the same reasons and now Fury because its labelled as the most exciting fight in world boxing. When Fury gets blown out just like Audley,Del Boy and Enzo we will hear the same crap about how Haye only took the fight for the money.

Name another young 23 year old fighter that would of brushed off the loss he suffered to Carl Thompson aswell as he has?

I don't think anyone can blame him for the money fights, god I'd maybe do the same.
And he is a fighter and he has got talent......but the way he lost to Vlad was embarrassing !!!

end of the day he went into a crooked, dodgy business and did phenomenally well for himself so who are any of us to judge?

To me, whenever a boxer gets famous beyond the ring, they seem to ease towards the 'celeb' circuit.

When Haye unified the cruiserweight belts, he was hardly that known, it was his endless publicity tour for the Valuev fight which got him known. The size difference, being at heavyweight helped to!

Look at people who go on talent shows, they claim they want a artistic career or whatever, but suddenly are happy to earn their keep on the d-list.

He's had a decent career in fairness. At HW he's been disappointing though. Would like to see him back in there with somebody notable. I'd love to see him have another pop at Klitschko.

Haye obviously isn't to interested in making anymore noise by the sounds of it though. He's all about the money now. The hunger and eagerness to do damage in the HW division is pretty gone now. He's just plodding, waiting for the next money fight.

Sorry, but 99% of the boxing fans here are hypocrites.

Slate Haye for looking for money, yet agree with Fury ducking out of the Pulev fight in order to get money.

    Makes sense.

It's as if he became a different man when he became a heavyweight. As a cruiser he was fearless like Froch and travelled to Paris to knock out Mormeck, great heart against Fragomeni etc

I can always remember him giving it big talk as a cruiser about how he was so weight drained that he was only fighting at 70% of his ability- complete shite in hindsight as he only fights at about a stone over his crusier weight even now years on, if he had been so weight drained he'd be up at 16 and a half plus...

He gave it big talk about how he was going to rip the heavy weight division apart, he probably fancied himself to do it until he found out fighting Monte Barrett that it wasn't going to be as easy as he thought.

His performance against Wlad was absolutely spineless, when he knew he was getting beat on points he should have thrown all caution to the wind and went for the KO- but he went for survival instead- easy option. Then made pathetic excuses afterwards. Now he is just a celebrity boxer, he has probably lost his hunger now he is a wealthy man and realises he doesn't have what it takes either mentally or physically to dominate the heavy weight scene.

We are the paying customer and boxing fans- without us the sport doesn't exist! If anyone can judge its us!

I'd say to to find out the limits of your potential and test yourself against the very best, the cash is a great by product. When your career becomes about pound signs and your legacy is meaningless then you can't expect any respect from the people who love the sport
