Broner is now in trouble at 140 - 147.

His mouth is writing cheques his fists cannot pay.

From last nights performance it is clear the word is out that Broner doesnt carry the power up to 147, and he will not want any of the champs at 140.

Paulie (love him) was the low hanging fruit at 147 and this was set up for a onesided beating. It didnt happen and also it showed that show Broner any type of movement and Broner doesnt know what to do.

Look for Showtime to throw an easy one at Broner , someone like Berto in his next fight , but that will not sell.

But it will not last long , he either moves down to 135 or he loses and loses clearly.

Broner might be beatable, but he's still very tough to beat.

When it comes to the upper echolean of the division I'm having trouble seeing who he beats. Floyd, definitely not. Lucas, hell no. Bradley, most likely gets outworked. Alexander, not good with movement. Most likely losses. Garcia? Better stylistically, but wouldn't favor him. Maidana, ideal stylistically but I don't know if he's proven tough enough to combat someone as good as Maidana. Peterson? Maybe, tough to call. Zab Judah? Depends on how much Zab has left, but the one from the Garcia fight is superior to current Paulie so I say he would've lost. Khan? Only because he's so chinny.

Maybe he should go back to 135 and pick on guys like Rios who he could have a field day with. He could fight someone like Ruslan who fits his style perfectly. The top fights are trouble though.

He's going to fight Maidana next IMAO. And it's going to be a pretty good fight.

Yeah but I think he'll beat Maidana because of the speed difference.

If his ass stands stationary like he usually does it may be a short night for Broner.

I would favor him but it will be a good fight. Maidana is improving from fight to fight with Garcia so it will be fun. He will be the first fighter that can trouble Broner with his power.

he would be in some tough fights against the top of each division. i would put him in bertos level right now. he could pull of a couple of wins if he has a better beard and a stronger will than berto... but mostly he gets outclassed.

Agreed! I think its clear a past prime fighter like Malignaggi who was never near elite to begin with, exposed Broner as a hype job.

First 6 rounds while Malignaggi was fresh and active, Broner got thoroughly outworked and outboxed.

I called it early in IB's round by round that Malignaggi would gas and only then would Broner come on.
But for anyone that was high on Broner, it had to be dissapointing to see he could'nt do anything against an active fresh Malignaggi the first 5 and 6 rounds.
I was laughing at Broner as all he did the first half of the fight is shake his head to signal he was'nt being hurt. In the meantime Malignaggi was piling up the points.

I gave Malignaggi the first 5 rounds, then Malignaggi faded badly and only then did Broner get brave.
Broner could'nt hurt Malignaggi who was clearly gassed.
The same Malignaggi who a shot Ricky Hatton dominated!

    Broner exposed!!! :deal

The style and tactics he is using works fine when he can bully an opponent or if an opponent will stand in his range and fight his fight he is now in the weight classes where he will struggle badly to do either.

Has moved up too quickly without addressing any of his flaws and it will most likely become more apparent as time goes on.

That is why he should head back down the 135.

You're absolutely correct. His style is to shell up and walk toward his opponent physically trying to bully him.
Not a turtle shell defense like Winky Wright employed but a similar type of an attack where he uses defense and physical strenghth.
When either is'nt the physically superior fighter, the tactics dont quite work out as well as they're not as slippery or as gifted technically as Mayweather.

Malignaggi is a well below average puncher and he was able to be extremely competitive simply because he has some boxing pedigree and is not physically a pushover.

If Malignaggi even had an average punch, Broner would have been deep into his eyeballs in ****!

There are definitely 2 or 3 Welterweights out there who will beat Broner if he stepped in the ring with them.
