Billy joe Saunders has the lot, future world champ?

  1. I know there's the Ryder thread but I just wanted to gauge opinions on billy joeHe has been dominant in his outings so far and has 2 good tests with ambitious unbeatens coming up

I think he is the mutts nutts,so much potential.remember a teenage Olympian with great amateur pedigree he has taken to the pros like a dream
The 2 negatives I hear regularly I'm not sure have too much basis either
A lack of stamina despite 3 12 rounders and a 10 under his belt already and trained by the tibbs who are known for bringing in their boys in peak physical condition.i think the reasoning behind this is he comes flying out the blocks throwing combos with lots of movement so when he inevitably slows down he is accused of stamina issues
And lack of power that is maybe an issue as hall pryce Blackwell and boulden took him the distance but the way he finished fletcher and hill was perfect violence showing he can be a finisher even if only due to unanswered punches with his flurries

He has lightning hand speed, good footwork chin, variety of punches and
    seems a fighting man
Future match ups could include eubank jnr, barker or Murray and intriguingly if he steps up degale or groves and that's just domestic rivals

So I'm probaly biased as I have always seen him as a bit special,is he capable of producing at world level in time in your opinion and how does he compare with our 3 leading middles

Agreed. This kid is special. He's a level above Spike and Ryder so after he's despatched these two then the skys the limit!!

I really like him, he might lack of bit of power, i dont know, but what he lacks in power he makes up in aggression when he has them hurt, pure violence!

BJS has been dominant? Have you not watched his last two fights?

We will see when he steps up in class and thats if he wins the John Ryder fight. He needs maybe to fight for intercontinental or International title fight some gate keepers of the division. I think he defiantly has the capabilities but we need to see him in the ring with someone of better class.

  6. I think I've seen his last ten or maybe more

Blackwell was a game good opponent,no shame in being matched in departments in that
But please don't tell me Matthew hall had much success, wasn't it a shut out or near as damn it

So in his career 1 reasonably competitive fight, not bad going

Like what I've saw of BJS so far, people started getting on his back a little after the Blackwell fight but he's a very underrated fighter.

As for stepping up for possible clashes with Groves & Degale, he should steer very clear of that.

He would take Eubank Jr apart.

You said hes been dominant though, Blackwell pushed him quite close. And I think I gave Hall 3 of the later rounds in which was a competitive fight, also Gary Biulden did ok against billy, that was fairly competitive.

  9. I'm talking future opponents at super middle

It's virtually impossible to do your apprenticeship without getting pushed by opponents who won't move on to the higher levels with you
Anybody who thinks that a good competitive fight with Blackwell means that's his level aren't being realistic
It was a tough fight yes,one that Saunders will learn so much from.kevin satchell was pushed by Luke Wilton but I think they are on different paths,George groves had hell with kenny Anderson look at hatton and thaxton,Calzaghe and starrie etc etc

I believe Saunders will out point Ryder with the key being his hand speed but again it will be a tough fight but another one to chalk up to experience

After 3 or 4 rounds the snap goes right out of billys shots and that will be his undoing as he steps up in class.

Ryder will narrowly beat him in my opinion.

Eubank Jr would pummel him. Both in the ring AND in bed.

What I'm saying is, is that he shouldn't go anywhere near SMW.. too small and doesn't carry enough power.

I've always thought he could make LMW.

I find it a bit difficult to get interested in him for some reason. Not sure why, I just don't find him being someone I want to watch fight.
