Just watched eddies latest interview on ifilm and I have to say I love watching eddie talk he is class but the difference between carl Framptons deal with frank w and david Hayes with matchroom is there is no difference. Eddie couldn't really answer it could he.
Said he'd pretty much stated at the bottom with Frampton as his promoter whereas Haye approached him whilst at a stage in his career when he is a well-known established star which made it massively different for a start. Didn't feel McGuigan would bring anything to the role and would hinder him rather than help. Then said McGuigan isn't just co-promoting Frampton, he is now the sole promoter as per an article that came out recently. Also said he had spoken to Frampton personally a handful of times at most, everything went through McGuigan and felt McGuigan always wanted to be the promoter.
Where Eddie ****ed up was he said if McGuigan was co-promoter and manager there would be a "conflict of interest". Said it in his press state. Haye, Booth, Hayemaker is a conflict of interest as well by that reckoning but Eddie sings a different tune on that one.
Hearn is doing a good job and I love his passion for the game, but he talks such rubbish sometimes i.e with the Hayemaker / Frampton scenario and saying Haye was an ex undisputed heavyweight champion.
Don't see where he has ****ed up on that? Booth is well-established and has done a lot of good things for Haye. Impossible to question the choices they made as any mistakes would have been made by David imo. On the other hand Barry hasn't promoted for Carl up until now so who knows what sort of job he will do? Why would Eddie want to share the job role on that basis?
Eddie did say that they didnt co promote though and I can remember thinkin to myself what about david haye and it got me thinking , then when kugan mentioned it to him yesterday I was intrigued to see eddies reply.
NH ‏@havahouli 13h @EddieHearn getting @leeselby126 on a @GoldenBoyBoxing card would be a great idea get US interest #onetowatch Retweeted by lee selby
He doesn't really co-promote Haye though, he just acts as the broadcasting go between from what I can gather, seeing as he has the exclusive Sky rights. It's a case of pay me or go to Boxnation/Primetime.
Yeah but eddie said they didn't do that but they done it for haye. Bit hypocritical , I know its all about money and maybe eddie and Barry Were falling out so eddie told him to go do one.
