Do people really think Ward vs Bute would be a foregone conclusion?

I think it could have been a tough fight - Ward vs previously undefeated Bute.
Many base alot on Butes loss to Froch, but Ward doesnt have the power and I dont think the ability to take shots like Froch, and styles make fights.
If you look at common opponents, yes Bute lost to Froch, but he did look better than Ward against Bika and Miranda.

So how do you think Ward vs undefeated Bute would have gone? and how do you think it would go now if they fought at LHW?

Bute would murder Ward at either weight.

Of course it's a foregone conclusion

    Bute 10X < Ward:deal:deal

All Bute has done so far in his career is beating up cap drivers and C level journeymen in Canada, oh and that little visit to England where he got smashed to bits.
Even Andrade who Kessler used for target practice for 12 rounds KO'ed Bute.
And Ward avoided this guy? :patsch

Yes, people with clear working minds, free of mental illness, universally believe this. Have you seen these guys fight?

It's not based purely on the Froch fight, it also based on how good Ward looked vs Dawson and how bad Bute looked vs Grachev

Froch ruined Bute the same way Calzaghe ruined Lacy.

Ward is not the same threat when you compare him to Grachev, who hits harder. Now I am not saying Grachev would win against Ward, the latter would probably beat Grachev with both hands attached in his back. Bute would have a chance.

Ward will leave his home town referee and judges.

I think Ward wins a clear UD. I also feel for whatever reason, Ward's team just did not like the fight.

i would have went for Bute either by stoppage or points.

whether Ward gets close to Bute often enough would be the deciding factor. those uppercuts when Ward would have got close would be brutal. Ward is open to them each and every time.

does Ward have a good enough chin to take the full force of those shots in close? hell no!!

yet Bika who had been out for 18 months and Boone the bum nearly did, but a fighter that Bute was, wouldn't?

OK. Ward plays into Bute's strengths too much. and if it came to boxing at long range? i'd still favor Bute.
