Danny Swift Garcia ‏DannySwift 12h DSG DUCKS NOBODY! I ALREADY AGREED ON FIGHTING ALL NAMES BROUGHT TO THE TABLE!
I think Garcia, whilst not exactly being super blessed with outrageous boxing skills, is still better schooled than Matthyse. In terms of power of course Matthyse has the advantage but I don't think he is a superior boxer to Garcia from what I've seen of him. I guess when you hit that hard you don't need to rely on the skills so much in fairness to LM.
JonnyBGoode I pay special attention to the 140 division and I have done for a very long time in no small measure because this is the division my guy Ajose Olusegun competes in as well as one of my boxing heroes Obisia Nwakpa former Nigerian, African, Commonwealth and WBC number 1 contender fought in narrowly losing a split to that fine technician Saoul Mamby. My view on Danny Garcia who by rights Ajose should have fought but thatbis another story is that he has been developed well as a prospect he was not the finished article when he won the title however he was given an over the hill great fighter to win the world. Wish every fighter was so lucky. I noted that he was and is an improving fighter and the fights he has had since them have definitely brought him along. He still has his real deficiencies but he has won the contests he had including Amir Khan and Zab Judah. Khan had the skills to win their fight but Khan lost due to his stupidity and defects of character and boxing IQ. Angel Garcia in particular must be given credit for getting into Khan's head and devising the strategy for Danny to knockout Khan. However some think Danny is a power puncher but he is not. He can punch with authority like a lot of guys at 147 but you don't have to be a power puncher to knock Khan over. The Zab Judah fight I am pretty sure concerns Al Haymon and the rest of team Garcia in that as much as Danny has improved he is not ready for the best. Please note there is a difference between the best and those perceived to be the best like Amir Khan. On to Lucas the Machine Matthyse people are getting fooled that it's all about power with Matthyse which I wish it was as actually as I discovered to my disadvantage when he fought Ajose Olusegun. I expected a tough fight and war akin to Ike Quartey and Crisanto Espana many years ago which is what we got but with the added factor that Matthyse who I rated extremely highly had developed into an even better fighter than I thought. He is an excellent technical fighter, patient with a high ring IQ. Ajose won the 1st round as expected made a mistake in round 2 and Matthyse never lost his grip on the fight. My point is Matthyse is for real. I believe I know how to defeat Matthyse but Garcia has not got the equipment to do it in fact few fighters do.
