I love Price but the worst thing is he hasn't really learned from the KO because he has refused to acknowledge he was hurt by a poor shot. He still claims it was a "freaky" ear shot that did his balance and Lennox is agreeing! Lennox should know better, at least when he was KO'd it was from a real life hailmary punch from mcCall's and Rahman's boots. Not like the timid cuff that snotted Price.
Betting on a distance fight is ignoring the fact that the Brit stoppage could upset the applecart if Price can only land a good grazing blow
This is a 50/50 fight. Thompson is, by far, the best American heavyweight and very underrated. If Lewis did a good job of helping Price, I give Price a chance. It won't be easy............Wilder refused to fight Thompson for a good reason..............he has been avoided by almost everyone, except Vlad, who knocked him out two times...................
Exactly what I'm basing this bet on. Nobody else has knocked him out, or even looked good. It will be cagey.
8th round or over is 13/8 that's mental! Surely price will box first 4-6 rounds and tony Thompson is no mug at all, he was catching all prices shots on the ropes last time and is smart enough to out think price
Agree with the earlier poster, the only way this goes 12 is if we see a Banks/Mitchell or Dawson/Flintoff type incident. The step up in class from the likes of ***ton and Harrison to Thompson was ****ing ridiculous in one go, reckless management from Maloney. Price can certainly win this, it wouldn't surprise me if he did, but he won't go 12 without getting clipped at some stage. Boxing cautiously is only going to encourage Thompson I think. What we really need to see from Price is a performance similar to Lewis/Golota, really looking to make his mark from the word go. If he can do that, he could put Thompson away early.
I really thought Price would do it tonight, gutted for him as he seems a nice lad, but his tactics were so, so wrong. Well in the folks who called it and made a bit of cash off it.
