I understand styles make fights and sometimes opponents will take a fighter completely off their game, but what was wrong with Oosthuizen? I've seen him a couple of times, he was an exciting fighter, good boxer, willing to eat punches, fight off the ropes, etc. Seems Gonzalez packed a decent pop but Thomas just seemed lathargic and lost in there.
Draw isn't completely out of the realm of possibility, though I agree with 6-4 for Gonzalez.

Who the hell were you watching? The reason why he was getting tagged at will is because of his severe LACK of moves.

Wow the Black of Brandon's dick.. lol I had a good laugh off of that one.. I do disagree about Thomas winning the fight.. He lost Rounds 1-5 and had some Good rounds in the second half of the fight but I had it 6-4.. TRUE Gonzalez was gassed down the stretch but for a guy who has never been 10 Rounds He acquitted himself well against a TOP 10 Fighter.. NO LIE if it was a 12 round fight we wouldn't be here talking about how Gonzalez got robbed. more than likely he was going gas out if it went 12..

I have seen Oosthuizen before and seen him win some fire fights.. and take the fight to opponents.. but tonight he was either off.. underestimated his opponent.. or was simply figured out by a green opponent with a good game plan.. and I had Gonzalez too 6-4.. I would like to see Gonzalez against more quality opponents for some 10 rounders.. He is 29 so his time is now.. Oosthuizen might have been exposed a bit.. will he go back overseas and lick his wounds for a while or fight some other contenders in the SMW like Sakio Bika.. That would be a good tilt..

Oosthuizen could benefit with another coach, he looked ill prepared in there.

    I scored it a draw 95-95.

It was a dull fight for the most part. Neither boxer was impressive and I'm not interested in seeing either in the future.

Max Kellerman is embarrassing as a man and a tv 'personality'. The way he kisses up to Andre Ward is cringe-worthy and disgraceful. I don't think Max has met an 'urban' fighter he doesn't want to kiss up to. His fawning over Andre Ward is obvious and reprehensible, just so embarrassed to have to listen to that punk try to ingratiate himself with every 'inner-city' guy, or perceived inner-city guy in his proximity. What waste of skin Max is:roll:

HBO didn't mention that prince, who Ward called by his given name on-air, is one of Ward's promoters and also promotes Gonzalez, who the whole crew was cheering on in such a biased way.

I was thinking this too during the fight.. Froch Takes Oosthuizen face off easy.. He walks thru Tommy Gun and puts him down.. A green guy like Gonzalez was taking Oosthuizen shots well.. So imagine what Froch does..

Neither guy covered himself with glory and neither guy is world level. Gonzales was on his way to a clear win early, but gassed, barely threw in the 2nd half of the fight, and allowed Oosthuizen back in the fight just based on workrate. Gonzales still did the quality work when he did throw, but there was enough there to make things debatable and so the draw outcome. Oosthuizen showed that he has little defense and is a somewhat sloppy and predictable puncher without much pop, Gonzales showed that he has decent skills but is too passive and has stamina issues.

Homer? You do realize the fight was on hbo because of oosthuizen. Hbo wants to get behind him because they thought he was an exciting fight.

    They appear incorrect.

Kellerman is hands down, the worst commentator I have ever seen in 35 years of following boxing. It is an EMBARASSMENT that HBO has this unqualified clown on their telecasts. Kellerman, alone among boxing commentators, never worked as a journalist or was a participant in the sport, prior to getting plucked from obscurity and put on ESPN and then HBO due to family connections. He's terrible.

HBO should get someone qualified like Al Bernstein, the best in the game.
