Lets change tables a little Canelo walks at about 175 pound diets and saunas cutting weight makes weight and comes back in the ring at about 172-174 for a 154 pound fight. What if Floyd who walks at 152 cut weight and fought at 130 or 135 pounds. How many people would hate on him for it. Mayweather is scared of people his own size ect. I don't see a problem with cutting weight as long as you make it, but many people seem to.

We need to go back to 8 weight classes. Anyway, if there were 8 weight classes today what division would Canelo be fighting in?

Ellerbe lying isn't really a topic of discussion. Why? Because the fight is made. Canelo agreed. No excuses.

That's not what happened. Canelo's team did not offer to fight at a catchweight. Check the May 8th boxing scene article. They said they would not consider a catchweight. What happened was Floyd's side wouldn't fight unless there was some sort of catchweight. first Floyd said he wanted to fight at 147, which was obviously absurd since both guys hold titles at 154. Canelo only agreed to 152 because it was the only way Floyd would fight.

and BlizzyBlizz, I thought everyone knew who wanted the catchweight? apparantly not, there are still plenty of people who think Canelo wanted the catchweight. people are getting duped by the spin.

I wish there were no excuses, but you know how it is. If Canelo loses they'll say he was too drained and not at his best. Canelo agreed because he wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr, and the only way he could fight him was to agree to Floyd's catchweight. Floyd was asked "would you have fought him at 154?" and Floyd started stuttering and couldn't answer the question. The sooner people realize that Floyd could have made it so there were no excuses, but he chose to cut corners and give the fans excuses, the better. doesn't mean i'm not going to watch the fight, but the catchweight bull$ is robbing the fans of a "no excuses" fight.

Robbing the fans of a no excuse fight? Every fight that involves Mayweather involves some sort of excuse. Most fans will give full credit to whoever wins this fight. There's always going to be a group of detractors though that will come up with some sort of excuse.

Canelo isn't making excuses. Canelo put up with FMJ's demands to make the fight. Just call a spade a spade. Need I remind you that FMJ made a big deal about how Pac drained Cotto and how he still considered him an undefeated fighter. Essentially FMJ was making "excuses" for the Pac - Cotto fight and the same thing is happening here. Be consistent.

Nobody cared what Floyd said about Cotto-Pacquiao except you. Cotto was the one fighting Pacquiao, and Cotto agreed to the catchweight.

Shadow, I realize that you won't change your mind about this because you don't like Floyd, so I won't even bother discussing this topic anymore. Canelo agreed to 154, Floyd asked for the catchweight, and you won't be able to give Canelo an excuse should he lose.
