better trainer- billy nelson or joe gallagher?

All depends, with Trainers. Its who has the better catchment area, most of the time.

 

I prefer Billy.

Joe thinks he's alot better then what he is.

 

How can you tell whos the better trainer?

 

I think Gallagher would benefit more from having less fighters leaving him more one on one time with the ones he had left

Tough to say but i always say the coach who can develop and work with loads of fighters with differing styles is the best.

Look at Jack Loew he had Pavlik and really hasn't done much else bar him. Virgil Hunter looks great with Ward but is he as good as we thought. We shall see how Khan progresses and how Angulo comes back.

 

As soon as I read that my mind went back to the Pavlik-BHop fight and the complete lack of any useful advice coming from Pavlik's corner between rounds. Have only seen that fight the once but I think after one round Loew said something along the lines of "Just do it like Calzaghe did it". Couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for Pavlik.

 

Why are people digging out billy Nelson for leave the bloke alone

 

Agreed he was awful and TBH all he ever used to tell Kelly was ''double the jab''. Training a world champion is a massive achievement but to train many is the key to greatness.

Billy and Joe are very even like the poll shows.

 

Look at what Ricky Burns has gone onto achieve since Billy Nelson became his trainer. There is your answer.

I rate billy nelson very highly and it has no bearing he is an esb poster
He has a great partnership with burns like all the greats have down the years
Hungry skilled fighter + tactically astute trainer = a great fighter


He seems to be switched on regarding his opponents(Gonzalez being the exception) is a hard taskmaster who sees the benefit of regular intense fitness training and sparring
The key to a great partnership is knowing your fighter his strengths weaknesses and when to peak and taper training,nelson and burns fit perfectly


I am a joe Gallagher fan as well he seems a good bloke with a strong stable.he comes across as being obsessed with learning his trade and if he is successfull then that will be great for British boxing


At the end of the day we don't see these guys train we see snippets on tv,gain opinions from watching a fighter evolve and read features in fitness or boxing mags on their ideas but that's all it's mainly speculation so as burns and Harrison have been a success at world level for now it has to be nelson
