if i were groves id take the fight in a heartbeat big payday and whats he got to lose? no one excpects him to get the w and if he pushed froch hard it would help his standing before he regrouped and improved.

Eddie Hearn, who promotes both fighters, has revealed discussions are already under way.

He said: "We are in talks regarding a potential blockbuster domestic fight later this year.

Both fighters have plenty of options and although it’s a fight we originally envisaged for next summer, if it makes sense for both fighters, neither has a problem with making it happen.” (Sky Sports)

    Bad move for both fighters.

Froch should be looking to fight someone who can truly cement his legacy. Whether that be a rematch with Ward, GGG, Chavez r or even stepping up to light-heavy for a crack at Hopkins or Stevenson.

For Groves, as much as I like him, I just can't see him winning this. He's a good fighter but a step or two behind Froch at the moment. He needs to test himself with somebody like Bika, Abraham or even Stieglitz first.

I would like to see the fight happen at some point though, just not now. Maybe end of next year after Groves has got another 3 fights under him and Froch has hopefully secured a couple more big wins.

in my personal opinion if i was handling groves id take stieglitz get a mandatory defence in then look at a unifcation or title fight with degale before seriously considering froch so that is about three fights like True Hero said and could happen around december next year by which time groves will still only be 26!

The problem from Matchroom's angle is what happens to Froch during that time. Seems that Kessler has declined to a third fight given this latest development; this IBF manoeuvre is all down to Hearn which indicates other viable money options are not exactly flying at them right now.

And although Froch is fit and strong for his age his promoter will be aware that not many improve after the age he is currently at. So any really big fights in the meantime for Froch could jeopardise the all Matchroom ppv they have been eyeing since Groves joined them. Ideally I'd like Groves to have a toughener first and if possible claim a belt to set up a unification. But money talks.

I like Groves but this has come to early for him, I expect Froch to hunt him down and do exactly the same treatment he dished out to Bute! FACT

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is going to be PPV.

I just can't see Groves winning this.

Interesting fight but it's hard to see how Groves beats Froch given the fact he has never fought anyone near Carl's level. Groves needs a bridging fight before the Froch fight ideally to show us that he can feasibly beat Froch with the wind behind him.

That uruguyan repo man he fought in hsi last fight isnt e3xactly ideal prep for Froch. Groves would be stupid to take the fight. He loses badly.

Would love to see it. Build up would be great as well.

I'd fancy Groves actually. Froch didn't particularly impress me against Kessler and looked to me as if he was slowing down (or maybe he just didn't want to stop Kessler). Groves has the style to cause him problems and I can see him doing to Froch what he did to DeGale. He's improved since then as well.

Groves is so under-rated on here. People seem to rate DeGale because he looks better. He is flashy, but has so many flaws.
