i don't think GGG looked SPECIAL until his last fight.. and he really put it all together.. that's one of the better performances i've seen in recent years. He controlled the fight from the opening bell from a formidable opponent. I agree that in some of his other fights, he showed some unimpressive defense at times but it seems like he's still making improvements and will become a Top 3-5 P4P fighter in boxing for a long time.

I think his defense is actually pretty good for a come forward fighter.

He's got good lateral movement and he's far more than just a brawler.

His defense is so bad he has never been dropped. Nearly 400 fights and not a single knockdown.

OP, you are a ****ing idiot.

The answer to your question. I'm not upset you talk about a boxer I like, I'm upset that you bring race into every argument you make and disparage not only races, but many nationalities....which is much worse that someone talking **** about your woman. So **** off with trying to act the victim, you're a racist ******* and you deserve whatever you get. Maybe YOU should thicken up that paper thin skin you have if you can't deal with it jerkoff. It's not our problem that you have social identity issues.

Derrick, I don't usually engage with you unless I want to rattle your cage for a bit, but I sorta for once, sympathsise. I'd consider family off limits too, cos hey what have they done? Thing is, unless you and Missus D go on ESB together she ain't getting hurt, is she? Just that someone's found summit that's sensitive for you - managed to get under your skin. Never occur to you that some of the things you say might hurt someone else in the same way, might be genuinely upsettin', not just 'online banter'? Perhaps if you show a little more respect for other posters, you'll get some back?

Trip G is a dam good fighter and puncher and he beats anybody at 160 but I think at this point Ward is too tall an order. Contrary to popular belief, Ward can and will knock you out. Ward is not gonna run like Macklin and get cornered, he has better skills than that. He is gonna back Trip G up to the ropes and smother his punches. That's pretty much how it will happen. Plus if it did come of a boxing match, Ward is the superior boxer.

I am to blame for the family thing. Derrick mentioned he had an Asian wife and I could not resist suggesting she could have been mail order. I agree with not involving family but I honestly meant it to be a dig at him not his wife.

It is typical how someone like Derrick has no problems using sensitive issues to provoke but when it invaribly gets thrown back at him he plays victim and threatens to snitch on his tormentors.

Derrick also mentioned he was getting his son into boxing and that is great for them but I cannot help but wonder how his World view will effect that situation. After all they will eventually encounter fighters from those areas and ethnicities that seem to disturb him so much.

The truth is that he is an exciting addition to Boxing and possibly the best middle weight in the world. I know the normal dynamic where a superboxer uses his speed and skills and the guy like Glovkin never fully gets his power out of the holster (Leonard-Hagler, Hopkins-Pavlik, Ward-Froch etc.) but I’m not sure that the great Sergio is up to the task (and I’m not sure that he isn’t). But I am hoping for the chance to find out.
