Even with a better chin and better stamina, Price simply isn't all that skilled. David Price has been boxing since he was 14 and is now 30, so if he can't use his jab properly by now it is never going to happen.

    1. Do u get him a new trainer? If so who? A realistic option? - YES. Joe Gallagher

    2. Do u hire him a strength and conditioning coach? - This is the first job IMO.

    3. How long do u feed him bums to build up his confidence? - 2 fights.

    4. Who would be a good step up opponent when he is ready, that your confident he could beat? - 2nd fight from now Oliver McCall or perhaps even Sprott.

    5. Is he not salvagable? - His route is difficult, but he can still rebuild his career.

IMO Price has found his level, he's not quite world class and probably never will be. He's still quite young so you never know he might improve but I can't see him ever fighting a Wlad or a Vitali.

There were those who used to say Andy Murray was just that step below the others. He made changes to his "back room staff" and now he's a different tennis player...

Price needs rounds, he's hardly had any! Someone very durable with a great chin, the likes of Oliver McCall will definitely help.
The main fault of his last Saturday was the nervous energy. He couldn't relax, keep cool and just breath. I guess it's difficult to have such a tank when you're 6'8 250.
His chin isn't so mad. Before the stoppage I counted around 40 punches, next to all landed and he threw only 2 back. He wasn't wobbly but just spent.
Heck, he should just spar with Lennox. I reckon even Lennox today could possibly beat Thompson...which is depressing seeing how Thompson was meant to be a stepping stone.
I do hope he can get his act together, genuinely seems like a nice guy.

Prices stamina seemed to be the problem this time around rather than his chin. His chin certainly isn't great, but his stamina was what let him down this time. Time to go back to the drawing board, and time to start fighting British and European level HW's for a while again before trying another step up.

It was almost over in the 2nd. Price just ran out of gas very quickly. Didn't Price knock Thompson down a lot quicker than Wlad using less power punches?

If Price had the stammina, Thompson wouldn't have seen the end of round 3. Price needs to get up in the mountains to train (as the Klitscho brothers do in Austria) and build up his stamina. I'm old (45 this year) but ski touring and mountainbiking at altitude does wonders for my boxing stamina, most in the gym run out of gas well before I do even though they are in their 20's.

Price chin came out to be not bad after all, but his mindset and skillset, is almost terrible.
He need to get his stuff straight.

I've never watched him before Thompson fights but to me it looks like his power is his only world class asset. He really doesn't impress with ANYTHING else, especially with his mindset/emotional intelligence so it's no surprise he lost badly to a gatekeeper that a 41yo Thompson is.

Hard to expect that the gate will ever open for him too, because frankly, he doesn't seem to have this thing that champions are made of - the unshakable belief in himself and hunger. Mentally, he seems kinda misplaced on the big stage. I wouldn't mind him to prove me wrong though.
