Below is a list of UK SKY PPV events that occurred up until Hattons memorable night with Mayweather back in 2007. If anyone can add in other events that have occurred since, in order, that would be very grateful. Would love to have a top 10 list of fights on PPV in the UK. Can imagine only Haye V Harrison/Valuev and maybe Froch/Kessler could break the list? Prove me wrong if you can.

Also, interesting fact. Hatton V Mayweather is the only fight in the history of boxing where more viewers paid for the PPV in the UK, than they did respectively in the US....

Pay per view on Sky Box Office • Ricky Hatton v Floyd Mayweather (2007) 1,000,000 +

    • Lennox Lewis v Mike Tyson (2002) 760,000

    • Frank Bruno v Tyson (1996) 660,000

    • Tyson v Evander Holyfield (1997) 550,000

    • Tyson v Julius Francis (2000) 500,000

Pay per view in the US on HBO

    • Oscar De La Hoya v Mayweather (2007) 2.4 million

    • Tyson v Holyfield II (1997) 1.99 million

    • De La Hoya v Felix Trinidad (1999) 1.4 million

Ricky Hatton Vs Manny Pacquiao - UK PPV - 780,000

Side note - Hatton/Mayweather did 1.3m in the UK. Unbelievable figures, Hatton was a British one off in terms of popularity.

Hatton was P4P number 2 in british people's eyes.

It was a clear 1 vs 2 fight when he fought Mayweather.

Great shout re: Manny Floyd, again that may have eclipsed US PPV's as rememebr that only doing just short of 900K?

1 V 2? It was an epic event, truly was. Great times.

Makes you wonder what numbers Hatton would've achieved on terrestrial tv.

1.3 million is absolutely unbelievable for a fight at 5 in the morning!! Un-****ing-real!!!

    Hatton truly transcended the sport.

Nope it didn't, I remember fat Dan saying that to date (and probably won't ever happen again) Floyd/Hatton was the only PPV to do more numbers in the UK than in America. Manny/Hatton must of fell a little short.

Like somebody said, 1.3m buys at 5am is unheard of and won't be done again. I wonder how many people actually watched it, I remember I had the lads round mine, probably about 5 or 6 of us to 1 buy.

Ironically Floyd v Guerrero did about that and was called a flop...

Strange as from our point of view it was a huge fight

Still got the papers from the Hatton fight. bang in the middle of the footy season, and it was on the front page of the mirror, sun and mail. Was just unreal how big it was. Everyone, literally everyone in my age group was watching it. There were at least 3 parties on our street. The tears man.

Also, Froch Kessler did 250K according to sources.

250k. Thats a good number considering where Froch is when it comes to cross over appeal.

The Mayweather v Hatton 1.3 mil buys will not be beaten.

Hatton really was and most likely will be for a long long time the most popular and mainstream british fighter ever 1.3 m is just amazing half them numbers on sky ppv is unreal, anyone know what other Hatton fights did, Lazcano, Paulie ect if the mayweather fight was on terrestreal it would have done like 30 million viewers
