hi there, i used to post here about a year back whilst training and had a few fights, since then ive done nothing in terms of physical exercise, no excuses just got lazy and kind of got disillusioned, i do think i overtrained at sometimes, as i lost alot of weight very fast and may of drained too much, im now about 15lb heavier due to some alchohol and eating crap and a whole lot weaker and unfit :-(, but i really want to get back into so i will post around again and read whats going on around here, look at all ur videos and views. :good :thumbsup

I do not claim this would explain why you quit sometime ago, but maybe you did things you did not like and put too much pressure on yourself in terms of winning fights?

Well, are the things that made you stop in the first place gone, or are they still present? If so, what makes you think this time's gonna be any different?

Not trying to sound like a jerk. Just genuinely curious.

That sounds almost exactly like my situation minus the few fights. I halfheartedly started training again about 2 months ago, only going a couple days a week. I didn't really feel motivated like I did last year when I trained 4-6 days a week, 2-3 hours a day. But I just found out there's a competition coming up that I can enter, so time to get back into it for real now. Best of luck to you!

This sounds like the normal cycle of any boxer. The fact of the matter is that most boxers have no choice but to unload the weight at the last minute. Now, some individuals have found ways to keep the weight down all the time. However, its very difficult to maintain yourself at this regimen.

After boxers quit, most of them get fat, lazy, and drink too much. 15 lbs is not that much variation. Maybe you are being too hard on yourself?
