Well if Povetkin has had close fights that is actually encouraging, if he is undefeated. It means he can come back from losing and almost getting KO. Klitschko will not be an easy opponent for him. Honestly, I'd give a better chance of a guy who had close fights and won to beat wK than a guy who just blew through bums like wilder. Because when that guy who blew through bums like wilder or haye goes and fights WK they are going to fight just to survive and not get KO. Whereas someone like Chisora will actually fight TO WIN. even if he is losing he is actually trying to win, whereas the doping russian guy, he just was trying not to get koed by wk.

Povetkin on the brightside after watching his highlights has actually put some beatings on guys. On the down side he is pudgy and could stand to lose weight. When he is fighting WK he should get mike tyson to train him if he has any sense, lose weight, and
better get some road work. Povetkin has a clear guide on how to beat Klitschko, there are actually 4 of them, he has been knocked down by about 10 opponents and he just has to study the knock downs enough to learn how to nail him. While he may not knock out Wlad, he certainly can knock him down, and if he drops enough the fight will be over.

I never write off an opponent completly facing a guy with a known glasschin.

I am not predicting povetkin will win, but I believe he COULD win, if he takes the fight serious. But if he comes in soft, gets tired by round 6 he will lose.

Povektin has already started strenght and conditioning in Kyrgyzstan before he starts camp back in Russia.
He doesn't like to travel so going out there tells you how much he wants this.

Because Povetkin can't afford to pay off the ref.

    Wlad can.

There is no inside fight in a Wladimir Klitschko fight.

It's not about what happens inside, but whether you can get in while Wlad's working on that you don't. Chagaev had the most sound tactic to bob and weave in avoiding the jab, but still got busted up. Peter#1 is no good cause he's a puncher who matched Wlad's physical strength and his power made WK cautious, Povetkin lacks the size, the power and forward game to match Peter#1 and Wlad was much better in Peter#2.

Povetkin is a fine skilled little fighter, but even more so was Ruslan Chagaev, a better amateur (defeated Savon, Tua etc.) and a more capable pro to handle a big guy (SNV), and he still got brutalized. No fighter out of the Russian school stands a chance bar lucky punch, it's either a Haye, speedy fighter slipping the jab and timing Wlad with single bombs, or a Stevenson kind of skilled puncher taking risks, Alex is neither. He's someone who lacks any weapon Wlad can't better, it's like Broner facing Floyd at LMW.

I wouldn't touch Povetkin unless the odds were absolutely ridiculous and even then, I'd only bet what I was happy to lose.

Wlad will win this one without much fuss.

What sort of drivel are you sprouting? Povektin beat Chag. How can he be more skilled?. Povektin also has a far better amateur record. He beat evey style and has wins over legends like Cammarelle ..... Chaggy was a sick patient against Wlad who did nothing but bore head first onto right hands..Povektin can actually cuut off the ring. Chagg could not.

Wrong Povetkin can fight on the inside and Wlad can't. And also Povetkin has a stronger chin and skin than Wlad. Wlad has a weak chin and easy to cut skin.

Chagaev is far from great. He just stood there and let Wlad kick his ass. He didn't even fight back.

bet365 currently lists Klitschko as a 1/14 favourite, with Povetkin 13/2 to win. This seems more reasonable to me than Klitschko as a 1/5 favourite.

Povetkin was struggling with Chagaev. Did you even see the fight? Wlad on the other hand decapitated Chagaev in a mismatch.
