  1. Agree with all this
Burns is our no 2 at the moment

I have to agree with others on this thread. I was very interested up until Suzie McGuires name came up. Giving domestic abuse a platform and I'm not interested. Shame because Ricky is a top man.

There's a difference between saying Burns is our No 2 right now and that Froch and Ricky are our only elite fighters. I'm not the biggest Froch fan in the world but he's definitely out on his own in this country in terms of what he's done in recent times.

And I'm not quibbling with Ricky being our No 2 either - he has developed at world level beyond Cleverly; the fighters he's fought listed by someone above shows that he was having decent fights under W*rren whilst Cleverly was in cold storage. And then the switch of promoters was supposed to bring about the unification bouts that Team Burns felt W*rren couldn't deliver. So we will see how the Gonzalez and Beltran fights fit into the grand scheme of things.

In terms of making waves on a world stage, however, Burns win over Martinez was the only one that did that. That's why I found the use of the word 'elite' to describe Burns premature. Froch is elite whilst Burns right now is the leader of the rest of the pack. If Cleverly beats Kovalev though, he will have made bigger waves across the pond whether that's justified or not- and Ricky was the one who switched promoters to get bigger fights.

Some amount of pish gets talked about Ricky on here. You're all experts in hindsight. Before his fights with Moses, Mitchell, Katsidis and Martinez the majority thought he'd be beaten and that these were legitimate opponents. Once he beats them then they become "shot", "unprepared", "weight drained" or "no good to start with".
Ricky was also fully committed to fighting a belt holder in Vasquez and left his promoter as he was so disappointed at the fight falling through- how can you question his desire?
To equate Ricky's opponents with Cleverley's is a joke! If Billy didn't post on here then Ricky wouldn't get a quarter of the stick he gets, I think some of you feel you have the opportunity to goad Ricky into fights like sneaky wee shitebags in the playground.

To put Burns and Froch into the same bracket is massively disrespectful to Froch.

You have to be an absolute cretin to believe they are at the same level.

Billy if Ricky promises to say "obviously" on less than 10 occasions during the night then I am there but if he fails to keep this promise then I get my money back? How does that sound?

It's certainly not expensive my any stretch of the imagination,go for a meal in a five star restaurant and see how much change you'll get out of £85 on top of that there's entertainment and a chance to meet Ricky in person obviously lol

    So Ricky

What do you make of your manager's hate for muslims and does this open the door to a potential fight with Amir Khan?
