I swear this topic is brought up at least 5 times a month on ESB and you klitschko fans STILL haven't got your answer yet?

:nut Totally f*cking cuckoo as always McJoe

Everything you post on boxing is race-related, including the thousands of posts on the racist site castefootball.

I don't care where a boxer is from or what colour their skin is, basically the complete opposite of you.

Wlad isn't entertaining. Americans support entertaining fighters. We wouldn't want to watch Wlad.

Vitali, would be pretty big here, though. He comes to fight and there is action in his bouts.

However, all the Euros who love the brothers for not being American would start to hate on them.

Disagree, I think race and nationality have much to do w/it. In bold you make an accurate point re LL. They treated LL as if he was "gay" & Tyson would mock his Brit accent. With the K bros it's even worse - they have an East Euro accent and, sheesh they're white :yikes

This era is just as deep as the 90s. Or are you suggesting Wlad or Vitali couldn't beat past prime MT or Holy :patsch Bowe, please :nut

Yes Pac has an exciting style and Ward is boring. Let's stick to HWs. Wlad is just as exciting as Ali but Ali is absolutely revered by many US fans. Go watch some of Ali's fights w/o the blinders on as he takes on barely 200# HWs. Last nite I happened to run into Louis (198 )-Schmeling (192) I on Youtube, where Max upset Joe. Btw, today that's a CW fight w/Max coming in light :yep Now Louis was the best in his era and approaching his prime, Schmeling a bit past it. Again for that era it was a pretty good fight, but by the standards the K bro haters apply to them it was a pretty mediocre fight. Louis didn't seem to have a plan B to stop MS right. Now Louis was supposed to possess these lightning quick, killer combos. He tried at times but ended up stopped in the 12th. Jack Johnson said Joe was robotic :D These days that's code for a white fighter  Louis or Schmeling would be blasted out of the ring by top 90s HWs never mind LL or the K bros.

Fast forward to the 60s 70s 80s and it's much the same. Remember the 80s when you had lard ass HW contenders & champs :barf Lucky for them the Soviet block didn't open up earlier !

IOW if they were the perfect HW - except for nationality & race ! :-(

I obviously know that, which only further supports my point. :deal

Chris Byrd was not a worldwide draw in boxing either, whereas the Klitschkos are.

Byrd simply being a black american with a strap did not make him special. The thread starter implied that simply being black and from the US would make a HW fighter with a belt some worldwide superstar. HBO didn't even want to show Byrd fight. And rightly so.

The race agenda fails. It cancels out either way.

This is a very good post. :good

You could turn the Klitschkos into white americans from the US and they would become more popular here. However, they would have to kiss those millions of dollars goodbye that they make in Europe by selling out giant arenas. They wouldn't have anywhere near the same super-stardom in that territory if they were white american fighters.

Did Larry Holmes or Evander Holyfield before the Bowe fights get the recognition they deserved?

    Of course, that's obvious.

However I think they'd still make big bux in Europe, just not as much as they have being from East Europe, based in Germany. If the K bros were Americans of East European heritage they would draw well - especially in central to east Europe. They would draw from two types of European fans:
    1) pro K bro, and 2) fans who would like to see any US champ beaten by a local contender.

With the amount of cash and popularity in many countries they already enjoy, i have a hard time feeling sorry for them.

And the way they're seen in America has seemingly changed drastically in the last few years, they get their fair shake of recognition, even within that angry butthurt island above the channel.

    It's simply that their white.

Sure their not super exciting. But alot of it is the white guilt bull****.

Had Haye KO'ed Wlad, ESPN would have probably proclaimed that the HW division was back.

You're kidding right? Rocky Marciano is loved by EVERYONE. Cooney was loved by EVERYONE. Tunney and Dempsey are regularly rated in the top 10 HW all-time list.

    Stop with the race BS.

They would have more of a casual fanbase in the US, but they wouldn't have as big of a fanbase in Europe. The British haters and even most of the American haters would probably still hate them. Honestly, I think they have more supporters the world over being based in Germany than they would have if they were Detroit or Phili fighters.
