Barnett coach Erik Paulson warns Mir not to pull guard as he talks Barnett training for the fight and getting into gear. I dont know who to really give the edge to on the ground. I know Mir is more on the down slope of his career but, conditioning is going to play a crucial role in the fight.

Barnett has this. Better chin, better boxing, better wrestling. Barnett via KO.

    LOL at Mur by sub.

These fanboys need to understand that he isn't getting the sub unless Barnett just gives it to him.

Mir isn't Werdum, and even he would have a tough time getting the sub on Barnett from the bottom.

    Josh has great top control.

Mir can't do **** from the bottom against someone who has great top control.

Tough to pick. Honestly, I feel that they're pretty equal skillwise.

Factors that will decide who wins:

Cardio. Mir's cardio looked good in his last fight despite the fact that he looks horrible. And if we want to play the MMAth game, Mir fared better than Barnett against Cormier. I think cardio is the reason. Barnett looked winded after round 2.

Consistency/will. Mir tends to fad when fights don't go his way. I've never really seen him dig deep and come back from dropping a round. Barnett, I believe has more heart.

Striking. Usually when guys are equal in the grappling department, it turns into a crappy kickboxing match. I expect this to be the same. Neither guy is really a KO artist. Barnett KO'd Pedro Rizzo. Mir KO'd a fading Nog. I'd say they're equal on the punch power. It comes down to who is less of a crappy kickboxer.

My prediction? Mir by decision due to better cardio and less crappy boxing.

Mir has shown one punch power and his kempo background allows his kicks to be diverse. I for one look at Mir as being the best BJJ practitioner in MMA. If he's at Jackson MMA, then he wins and clearly. If not, Mir still wins.

He had just come off of having a serious staph infection, and was suffering from a torn meniscus, or MCL. Can't remember which one.

yeah so apart from that fight and the cheik kongo fight there is no evidence that Mir is a banger atall.

Mir has good power in his hands, but Barnett has a good chin, and has only been striaght KO'ed once, and that was by a prime Pedro Rizzo, back when josh was much younger and fatter.

Mir doesn't have the best BJJ in MMA.
