super middleweights has always been the UK's strongest division I think we're always gonna have top boys in that division when Froch retires it'll be these boys next, maybe some of our middleweights will move as well
Definitely hotting up, quite a few good fighters coming through. Then there's also the fact that as Froch is the draw, you have the likes of Clev willing to drop down to SMW to fight him and Murray willing to move up from MW.
I think it's inevitable that Murray will move to SMW in the end he looks massive at middleweight, he will be an exciting addition to the division, I'm really looking forward to seeing how Callum smith develops over the next 12-18 months, sparring froch Etc. is excellent for him at this stage of his career I think
It tends to encapsulate the heights and weights of average British men. I'd say around 5'8 to 6'1, with alot of them being blown up or work hard to make weight.
Most of our heavyweights have the same problem every other heavyweight does - they seem to hate training. Chisora, Fury etc have enough talent to at least be a live participant, if not become a titlist but refuse to dedicate themself. Look at Chisora today, still not in good enough shape, still not improved in any area of his game, still happy with mediocracy while talking like he wants to take a stab at greatness. Haye is the only one, who albeit is not perfect, but he seems to actually train, try to employ a strategy, try to embrace new sparring, trainers, training partners, S&C coaches etc and has reaped the rewards as a result.
I would imagine Callum Smith will move up to Light Heavy at some point as he matures Super Middle tends to be the "average" size for a bloke so no suprises its a competative division
