Rocky has been the recipient of three consecutive gifts since hooking up with Top Rank and isn't quite the elite his record would suggest IMO. Outside his chin and heavy hands there isn't much remarkable about him. That said, Tomlinson showed his ceiling in his step up against Klassen - who is a tier below Martinez. I had Tomlinson just shading it 114-113. Without the questionable knockdown ruling, it would have been a draw. A lot would have to do with location & who promotes the event. In the US, on a Top Rank show - I can't see Tomlinson getting the decision even if he earns it. In Australia, under Fidel Tukel - vice versa.
Roman "Rocky" Martinez is fighting Mikey Garcia on HBO in November....so Tomlinson aint in this hunt anytime soon.
