Would it be better for boxing if Fury beats Haye?

He has the heart to carry on but he still came through those challenges.

We haven't see what happens when he fails to come through those challenges.

Its not necessarily about mental strength with him. I just think if he gets beat by Haye (Particuly if he gets Ko'd badly early) he might think, 'well I am not going to get where I wanted to so whats the point'.

Some fighters a loss can be the making of them and who knows with Tyson maybe it will be but I don't think so.

 

Haye has a glass chin, he was knocked out by a cruiserweight. If Fury lands a solid punch on Haye, it will be lights out. It was Fury who pushed for the fight with Haye. I think Fury knows something. Why else would he want a fight with Haye? He could have fought Pulev, but refused................

 

If that was the case he wouldnt have got up from those two heavy knockdowns in his career and go on to smash his way to victory in both fights,put someone like David Price in Furys shoes getting knocked down like that.He probably wouldnt have got back up,Fury showed hes got courage,heart and determination and those are the three main things a fighter needs when coming back from a defeat.You can tell a lot about a fighters mentality from what goes on in the ring.Tyson Fury is the furthest thing from a mental weakling Ive seen in boxing,still dont understand what your basing your opinion on.

 

At no point have I said he is a mental weakling, so you are correct you still don't understand my point.

as for price he has got up from every shot he has been knocked down by.

Tyson has not got up from a heavy knockdown (though I have no doubts he would or at least would try to), his first one he was caught squared up and the cunningham one glanced off the top of his head. Both were flash knockdowns in my opinion. I have seen Tyson more hurt when he has stayed on his feet.

I don't think he is mentally weak at all.

I just think when he fails for the first time he will think better of it. By this point he will have earned decent already. If he can't reach the pinnicle he may not be up for it.

This is my opinion. It is not complicated. It is not a personal affront.

A good big un will always beat a good little un.....the problem is we are still not sure if Tyson is that good........a defeat won't do Tysons career a great deal of harm in my opinion, if Haye loses it may confirm my long held belief that although a brilliant boxer he has always been a shade to small to mix it with the class big beasts in this division.

He refused to fight Pulev??? Pulev would have been a much easier fight for Fury. Fury went for the money fight. Haye took some good shots from Wlad so his chin is fine. Haye's problem is stamina. If Fury can keep pressure on his Haye will be tired the second half of the fight. Fury took the fight the fans want to see. Most people has never heard of Pulev do to the fact he stays in EUrope and fights cans. Pulev is all hype and nothing more.

 

I may be among the few who actually feel Fury can beat Haye. I think with Peter Fury in his corner we should see Tyson boxing a lot more disciplined than he was against Cunningham.

Haye is fast, though, to get his punches off he will need to get in range and here I can see Tyson manhandling him and roughing him up. I will be interested to see if Tyson has the ability to take a little step back like Klitschko did in his fight with Haye. Despite Haye's speed that little movement took a lot away from Klitschko. Don't forget Klitschko is considered by some to be a bit chinny yet Haye couldn't land his much vaunted Hayemaker to take him out.

Fury might not be a Klitschko standard boxer but he may have enough movement to make this a harder fight for Haye than many expect.

Haye's not been in fight for sometime. I realise that he does not have a conventional approach to the sport but this inactivity might show against a young boxer like Fury who has been working his through fights regularly.
