My very good friend from Dallas Tx Quincy Taylor was the man that took the WBC middleweight title from Julian. He TKO'd Julian to win the belt ,only to have it stolen from him by a gang attack of Don King, Richard Steele & Keith Holmes. That was a diabolical robbery.
Back to the Taylor-Jackson fight, Quincy said Julian hit like a drunken lumberjack, every punch had immense power. Julian was indeed a great champion

Roys jaw is not exactly glass , if thats the case He would been knocked out cold as soon as Heavyweight Ruiz connected on him . http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...pfHvUbvwEtSyygGZgIGYDg&ved=0CFkQ9QEwCg&dur=76

But yes i agree , It would have been lights out for Roy if Julian caught him flush . Julian knockout ability was scary as hell .

Then he should have fought him but didn't. It is always Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda with Roy.

Roy would have punished jackson. People go on about roys chin. Lol people forget roy didnt get hit in his prime. Jackson is to slow to ever land on roy. Jones would either win every round or ko him late. I have a hard time finding a mw or smw who would beat roy in his prime. Hagler would be good fight to have seen. Roy wouls ko hearns. He would beat ray leonard at mw. Mabe ray robinson wins but it close.

That's why I just laugh at the many anti RJJ threads and keep it moving. Jackson and everyone else were solid boxers but RJJ is a true HOEer.

You cant say he NEVER got hit in his prime . That would be exaggeration . Every fighter gets hit and Roy got hit a couple of times , Montell Griffin , James Toney , Lou del Valle who was the very first man to knockdown Roy in his prime with a nice left hand .

So why is it okay for Jones and Leonard to clearly duck fighters when the modern guys get hassled for it non-stop?

Julian Jackson, Nunn, Benn, Eubank are/were all talking now because it is after the fact. You're out of the limelight so I understand why they are doing what they are doing. It's unfortunate that we never hear from the guy being accused. Always one sided stories in these situations. I'd love to see Jones defend himself against Jackson.

He did get hit in his prime and proved he could take a punch. Even Ruiz, a heavyweight, landed some flush shots that RJJ took and kept going. Moving down in weight and age is what ruined his punch resistance.

All these guys were in hiding when RJJ was in his prime. It's no surprise they're all out in full force now.

Roy was 35 when he went to heavy and came down and beat/lost to Tarver-in the rematch. None of those guys including Jackson were talking about Roy then. They were scared then, and since the limelight is gone...controversey is the way to go. I was around then.

I never heard a peep from Jackson, Benn, or Eubank about wanting prime Jones during their prime. Nunn was the only one trying to talk until he lost to Rocchigiani. Even then public opinion was that Nunn could not beat Jones. They remembered Nunn-Toney. Nunn and Liles are mentioned now because Tarver was a southpaw and beat Jones.

Liles actually has a win over Jones in the amateurs. The same talk today about boring boxers went down back then. Everyone figured that since Toney beat Littles, and Littles beat Liles, that Liles had no chance to beat Jones. They considered Liles style boring back then.
