Lot of sense in your first paragraph, but he's already a British champion, with maybe not world but possibly Euro titles to come.He probably thinks its better than putting his hands down S bends and scrambling around in shitty lofts.
Mate I can honestly say Id rather be a ex British Champion with a **** chin boxing for a living than be up in a loft, in this heat, rolling about in that rock wall ****, fitting a ****ing boiler.
Bill, let us hope David reads your inspirational words and hits 'play' on his Rocky training montage CD and resolves to stick with the boxing.
Really? First fight just saw Thompson lay on the ropes soaked it up and then ko'd him, second fight got up from Prices best shot..
First fight all Thomson "soaked up" were a few jabs and half-hearted punches that wouldn't floor anybody. Second fight he got hit proper by Price twice, went down once from a shot that didn't connect fully since Thompson was moving back and almost went down the second which again didn't connect properly. Price has his faults but power isn't one of them.
You must be insane to think Price doesn't have power, Price almost had him out of there in the 2nd round and would have if it didn't happen at the end of the round, it took Wlad 6 rounds to stop Thompson, as said above Price has his flaws but power certainly isn't one of them, he's gotta be one of the biggest punchers in the division.
not saying its not good, just saying not "ridiculous" statement worthy... It's Monday i'm nit picking
It's rumoured that Price will be out against Sprott in the Autumn. After that provided he has worked on his stamina/jab/ringcraft he should be fighting someone like a Helenius who is beatable.
Guy's a frigging Olympian. How on Earth can an Olympic level boxer not use a jab? Audley was exactly the same. In fact, thinking about it the jab has become a total lost-art for the heavyweights, except for two fighters who have pin-point accurate ramrods. Coincidence?
No reason why he can't stay at domestic level for a few years and defend his British title every 3 or 4 months in front of 5 thousand scousers. Certainly beats doing a normal job for a living. There's no harm in taking his foot of the pedal and dropping down a level and fight the likes of Sprott, Cornish, Towers, Pajkic, Rogan for a year or two. And it's not like he still doesn't have the big money fights sitting ready for him if he wants to get right back in the mix. A fight with Chisora will do well and needless to say if Fury gets taken out by Haye then Fury vs Price will be a logical fight to take.
