Is Gary Cornish the next Scott Belshaw/Tom Dallas?

Ayes thats him and as Stevo says he had a pretty bad dbl fracture or sumthn...was back training within months rather than the year+ the doctors etc says......could be wrong.

Was pretty sure Brophy had got some titles in the am's...not that it matters.

My point was simply......he is an up n' coming prospect doing the same hard yards as Gary Cornish.....like plenty others.

 

Appreciate the reply and yeah i know you dont wish other fighters to lose etc....what i was saying was...the way some of your opinions come across......they do look negative to some extent......moreso with regards to Gary Cornish.

I am not here to make random accusations or make remarks on other fighters/trainers for the sake of it eg. Everyone says Dallas is shot yadayada.....ok he maybe is but as ma post previous when discussing him fighting Gary Cornish shows.....i show respect.

I knew of Butcher sparring with Ricky previous to his fight and i thought he won......if it had been on neutral ground then he would rightfully have a belt around his waist....and i know about taking the championship rounds etc.

Yes i do get fights wrong and hold my hands up (from my arm chair) though its far from 50/50 as others here may or would agree though am not one for pumping ma nuts.

As i said before and yeah it was a rushed response (no excuses at all......or saying it was my brother in law who posted it :shock: ) was simply........it does come across like you have a particular dislike for the boy.

Your saying people are bigging him up etc and thats what a promoter does......but i dont see his team and certainly not himself say anything....quite the opposite....and i certainly dont see him being overrated on boxing forums.

He didnt set the heather alight when he turned pro i agree......he is learning on the job....and he does have a fair bit of heat on his back with regards to his promoters desires.....never mind his own.

I have had to watch Ricky Burns get utterly slaughtered for no reason at all on here for many a year Billy....and now seeing his own trainer having what seems constant swipes at a boy just chasing his dream........well.

 

You should know me by now,I would try and help any fighter if I could including Gary ( well i all ready have) I'm not saying he won't do well I hope for his future he does but there is a lot of work to be done,many miles to travel because of we're he lives to spar ect ect.
People can have a pop at Ricky all day long,they can't ever take away the fact that he's a two weight world champion and achieved more than most, that is a issue with the doubters,let's be very honest here nobody in the UK should be in a boxing ring with him at present he's way above them all and people can't accept it( your not included by the way)

I reckon you should get a heavyweight Billy!! Surely there is one kicking about your gym? Then you can train them and we can find out how good Gary is.. All kidding aside I can't remember in my lifetime any heavyweight being mentioned as a prospect in Scotland so I'm all for him doing well but in seriousness I think he would be beaten badly by Simmonds at the moment and there is also Davie Drummond from Dundee who again I think would stop him. In saying that there is no saying that he may progress but the excuse of limited sparring wears quite thin on me when you have these 2 quality guys in Scotland. As for Dallas that would be a difficult fight for Gary at this stage that's a 50/50 fight and he should be nowhere near a 50/50 fight yet in my opinion.. He needs lots of durable heavyweights to make up for his lack of amateur experience and some top quality sparring the Fury's would be ideal. Peter Fury seems like a excellent trainer and I'm sure he could help someone with Gary's attributes

 

You know full well that's not the issue with Ricky.

 

It is and you know it SOLARIS the doubters are our motivation, lets face it if Ricky were English hed be massive just now.
Ricky has been a world champion three years next month apart from Hatton, joe and carl I cant think of anyone who held there title for that length of time for a while and please believe me when I say he not done yet, he will win a third world title at LWW

 

16-0 (8) out again end of November. Cornish was always going to win his latest fight at the London Hilton but the important thing was the manner of victory. Worked the game plan beautifully. Sickened his opponent with hard accurate shots, wore him down then forced a stoppage in 7th of a scheduled 8. Spent Sunday with FW at the emirates.
