Larry Merchant: "The whale has been harpooned!" Teddy Atlas said that Kirk Johnson would knock Vitali Klitschko out with one punch, well, Vitali knocked Johnson out in the second round. Atlas is psychic in reverse...........

46-YEAR-OLD BOXER OLEG MASKAEV WINS SECOND MATCH SINCE RETURN
    MAY 27, 2013
Former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Russian Oleg Maskaev won his second match on Sunday after returning to the boxing ring, Voice of Russia reports. In a 10-round bout the 44-year-old Maskaev claimed victory over 36-year-old American Jason Gavern on points.

The Russian’s promoters plan to hold the next match against a boxer Oleg previously lost to. There were seven of them in his career – American Oliver McCall, Lance Whitaker, Corey Sanders, a New Zealander David Tua, Canadian Kirk Johnson, a Nigerian Samuel Peter and Aguilera.

Utter Bull****!!!! I was around the Texas boxing scene for years I saw both Kirk and Ike progress , under one of the most underrated trainers in boxing, Curtis Cokes . I knew both the whole time they were in the Dallas/FtWorth area. Kirk & Ike NEVER sparred together. Please get your facts straight before making silly statements that way you wont look such a fool:patsch

I knew Ike from the time he arrived in Curtis Cokes Home of Champions gym in Dallas Tx. He was telling everyone he would be world heavyweight champion. Ike was far from over rated . He went into the Golden Glove tournament almost untested. He went through Dallas, Texas State tournaments went to nationals . There he was robbed of victory, the guy they claimed beat him apparently was a local Wisc boxer. That was the only "loss" on Ikes record as amateur or pro. He made his name by outboxing & clearly beating David Tua & was on his way. Its such a tragedy that Ike called that hooker in Vegas. She lied and totally destroyed Ikes career
If not for that we wouldn't even be mentioning the Klitschko brothers today Ike was the natural successor to Lennox Lewis. I would have loved to see a fight between Lennox & Ike but it would have been very hard to watch Knowing & liking both guys

Actually, Kirk Johnson was a good fighter who had lots of skills. He also had lots of power, but after he opened his doughnut shop he was never the same!

Ummmm....Ike beat Tua.....but it would only have been a HUGE accomplishment if he STOPPED Tua.

    As for Ike's incarceration???????

Umm....what about the 10 yo boy he kidnapped and tried to kill to get even with his mother????

What about his insisting he WAS a president, and that he WOULD rule the earth?????

As for not knowing who the K2 are:lol::lol:
Ummm......there's no chance in hell Ike beats ANY version of Vitali Klitschko. He'd never beat Wlad from 05-present when he got his confidence back.

And to take the throne as HWCotW....he'd either need a few yrs of continuous title reign or he'd need to beat Lewis twice. Neither is even possible for Ike.:huh:huh:huh:nono:nono:nono

yes he actually did on FNF the night before the fight. It was hilarious he said Johnson just had the extra weight to 'push' Klitschko around and that it was a good strategy :rofl
