You do realise Lewis was born and lived in East London for the first 16 years of his life, and only went to join his mother in Canada because the family member he was left with in London, couldn't control him?

Then he went back and forth, and only represented Canada in the Olympics because he hadn't boxed in enough comps in England.

As soon as he turned pro, where did he go? Back home, is where.

 

chavez sr. when i first got into boxing i looked at him like some tough chinned mexican brawler who was blessed with his ability to take a good punch.. then when i started training myself i learnt just how hard the art of inside fighting is, i went home that night and rewatched chavez sr's fights and highlights


i could not believe how wrong i got this guy... he was a ****ing beast

And sometimes the division they leave never/take years to recover which makes you appreciate them more

I feel like people will be the same with Hopkins. The same people that calls him boring, will be "oooooohhhing and awwwwing" on youtube when he retires. You never know what you have until it gone sometimes.
