These threads really baffle me. There is no standard weight class for someone that is a certain height. It all depends on your body composition and how strong you feel within a certain weight range. That last part is important because, though being a 5'10 featherweight sounds pretty cool, finding your most effective weight is more important than trying to make the lowest weight class that your body will allow you to make... then proceeding to fight like a freakin zombie because you had to starve yourself for 4 days to make weight.
Similar to the old saying in football (sorry Soccer if you are reading from across the pond) ........... 'If you are good enough you are old enough'. Tyson wasn't taller than 5'10 was he? So from the posts above he should have been shoe horned into middlewight?
I fought a kid who was 6'5 at 139. He was previously a lightweight (132). It was the most frustrating fight I ever had, and I lost. He also hit me harder than anyone else I ever fought, even though he looked like a beanpole. So, yeah I'm with the guys who say it depends on build, frame and I would like to add.....style. I'm more surprised that some posters actually replied to this and actually suggested specific weight classes.
