Why doesnt more Mayweather opponents allow him to be the aggressor?

And Alvarez will lose every round he fights that way. If you let floyd go first, he will jab you to death. We don't see floyd's jab much because he fights on the back foot when they come at him. Floyd does have a great jab, and if you think his lead right hand lands a lot (over 50%) it would be even higher behind his jab.
Sometimes he is the aggressor.
Corrales,Hatton,Baldomir, fights he came forward half the time.
Also remember that effective aggressiveness wins rounds. He beat Cotto 8-4 it would have been 12-0 if Cotto had not put on so much pressure. As far as I have seen Cotto did better against floyd than anyone since Castillo 1.

 

he has skills ... in general better skills than his opponents so it is not the matter
of what they allow him to do but rather what FLoyd is willing to do.

 

People always seems to mention Mayweathers shoulder roll but he really only uses the shoulder roll on the ropes. I've mentioned in the past any fighter that faces Mayweather should allow him to be the aggressor cause he'll bound to make a mistake. but all credit to Mayweather he finds a way to win even being the aggressor. when he boxed Marquez I thought Marquez would let him initiate and be aggressive but Mayweather made him be aggressive

 

I think Canelo will try to walk floyd down and box at times but i still see mayweather breaking him down.

 

Because all opposing trainers think the way to beat FLoyd is to rough him up, get inside the pocket and make it a dirty fight. In order to do so, they have to be the aggressors. Obviously, it hasn't worked well for anyone outside of Jose Luis Castillo.

 

Marquez tried to let Floyd lead and Floyd did and was whooping him. Then Marquez tried to attack Floyd then got whooped even more. It's a lose lose against Floyd. Bradley on the other hand, would make it interesting. Maybe a headbutt would cause Floyd's first cut.

First of all, you don't "allow" Floyd to do anything. He pretty much dictates what happens in that ring.

Secondly, Floyd is a passive-aggressive fighter, in that he will only be aggressive
when the opponent is not doing anything.

Floyd is at the top of the mountain, which means you have to knock him off not the other way around. If your not the aggressor then you being in the ring with him, is just for the payday. You have to be a smart aggressor to get Floyd to open up. It's easier said then done, but sitting and waiting for him to fight a fight that he does not fight, will guarantee a boring night and you falling short from the victory.

 

He moves foreward from time to time in every fight.

 

Canelo doesn't protect his body well enough to walk Floyd down...and he's not strong enough.

The jab to the Solar Plexis is the reason Alvarez can't walk him down.:deal
He's there for that shot all night long...just watch his fights.

Something else I noticed:

Alvarez is not as strong as advertised.
Whenever Shane wanted a break he just grabbed Canelo and walked him around.

He couldn't do that to Mayweather.

Trout easilly beat him on the inside...as a matter of fact...alvarez conceeded the inside from the first round on.

He doesn't like it in there..he likes to walk around and fight at his own pace..Floyd will not allow it..
