I strongly agree with the people who suggest Tony Thompson or Dereck Chisora for Wilder's next opponent.

Obviously, the raw potential coming from Wilder is tangible. The issue is, he needs rounds BADLY. A day will come when the guy in front of him does not fall after his best shot. Plus, Thompson (though he's been stopped twice) seems to be the litmus test for any contender who thinks they're legit right now.

So yea, I'd like to see Wilder fight Tony Thompson within the next two fights or so. Either that fight or a Chisora fight would tell us quite a bit about where Deontay is at.

Either way, I can't miss a Wilder fight. A KO is virtually guaranteed.

Yea, he'd be an interesting fight too. Add Welliver and Kevin Johnson in with Thompson and Chisora on the short list. Those fights will be interesting to see. Deontay may be able to get more rounds in vs. those guys.

wilder could end up gassing out like tommy morrision if he ever fights a guy that will take him into the 5th or 6th round... never know..

He definitely needs to step up his comp. In nearly 30 fights he has yet to face someone who is a 'live body' instead of guys looking for a payday

Wilder is progressing just fine. People mention that he has 29 pro fights but how many amateur fights did he have? 30? Thats only 60 fights total and hes blowing out guys with more experience than him. If he fights some top 15 ranked contenders and continues his reign of distruction, his rep will be well deserved

I like Kevin Johnson next....good chin, not too much pop, can get lazy

Would be interesting.. and would get him some rounds

I dont like the idea of Tony Thompson next...Tony is still too wily and spry for him in my opinion

No. Wilder's power is not in question.

He needs to fight guys that are tough, aggressive, and can hit back.

That tubby no-hoper? Like he walked down Tank Williams or that 4 fight novice taht whipped him? :nut Welliver never faced a live puncher, the closest being a fat and lazy Solis who nearly laid him out if the ref hadn't stopped the beating.

Chisora is the only one available and worth mentioning at the moment, sadly he doesn't meet your requirements in a division that is obviously severely lacking.

He needs to fight a guy who hasn't been KTFO regularly and just brought in to lose. It's not complicated.

KOing somebody who has never been stopped ort down will be a lot more impressive than taking out a guy who's been kayoed in his last two.

    Guinn, Tua, McCall, Toney.

You get experienced fighters that have never been KOed, 3 out of 4 are broke and need the money, and at least 3 of them have a great deal of pride. McCall to this day brags about never being knocked down.

Wouldn't expect a close fight, but you should get your rounds vs an experienced fighter.

Toney would be a bit cruel to be honest, but he talks a lot of ****, so I'd be okay with it.
