Billy Nelson replies to Joe Gallagher BritBox interview, Crolla vs. Burns?

My issue with Billy is clear for all to see. Billy has said on several occasions that Ricky is the best lightweight on the planet, yet they continually refuse to fight the best.

It's easy to make ridiculous claims when you know you don't have to back them up.

When another trainer talks up his fighter, Billy gets all high and mighty and becomes rude, abuse and insulting. His attitude towards Gallagher is a disgrace.

He's allowed to make nonsense statements, yet if anyone else dares says a word he's the first to abuse them for doing so.

He has absolutely no class whatsoever.

 

billys a top man solaris, went up to spar ricky before the katsidis fight and stayed with billy and his wife for the week, treated me well and gave me advice on my boxing which I tried to take on board, he works hard with all his fighters and is always at the gym grafting, show a bit of respect to one of boxings good guys, keep up the good work billy, haters are gunna hate, keep the flag flying for the jocks!!!

 

I'm sure his offline persona is vastly different to his online one. I can only go off what I see on here.

I believe those who show others respect should get it in return. When I read Billy's insulting comments about other fighters and trainers I fail to see why he deserves any.

Don't understand why people are having a pop at billy I don't agree with everything he says but a forum is to voice your opinion and personal insults just show a lack of intelligence. If he doesn't back his own fighter then who will and I'd say he is proud not arrogant. I don't think Gallagher means any harm either I think it is if anything a calculated ploy to grab a bit of publicity off the back of Ricky it's not as if people don't do the same thing day in day out in boxing. Crolla would have more chance of catching a finished burns on his way back down the ladder but with the way crolla fights I don't think he will be around when that day comes

The point is Billy makes stupid claims but that's fine because he believes what he says, but if Gallagher makes claims (according to Billy) he's a deluded idiot etc etc.

Can't have it all your own way.

 

I would never intentional insult a fighter solaris never, i might not agree with there veiws and afterall a forum is about veiws isnt it?
I also have no objection to critisisim as long as its constructive, but what you think of me doesnt concern me in the slightest so please dont think in any way it does

Why would I think it does? I'm fairly sure you must have the skin of a rhino give the amount of crap you come out with.

Billy, if I had the desire I'd go back through your post history to find comments you made about the likes of Broner etc I would. You've made a lot of derogatory comments about other fighters and you continue to make derogatory comments about Gallagher.

You lack class.

 

I respect Gallagher for his ambition but I do think what he's saying is a bit daft. I wanted crolla to win against Rees but was one of the ones who had Gavin winning the fight. Burns gets stick for his opponents but crolla hasn't even fought the likes of Mitchell so 1 win doesn't make him the 'hot property' Gallagher thinks he is. What I can't understand is if I was training a fighter like crolla I would want them to fight the likes of Mitchell because those are the fights where you learn and gain the possible tools to win a fight against the likes of burns. If the fight happens soon the gulf in class is too great surely joe knows you build up to being a world champ by consistently fighting good opposition and winning and crolla hasn't proved he can do this yet

 

I can vouch for that when through sparring a few times with one of Billy's ex fighter he gave me some good advice afterwards when most other coaches wouldn't give you a wave off the bus...

And yes i maintain Ricky is the best LW in the world at present
