That is true but What is the style to beat Floyd? Surely you can't think that laying back and trying to outslick Floyd is the answer? Did trout hurt Alvarez? So we can assume trout is not heavy handed, did trout put on a boxing display like floyd will. You can make SOME comparisons when looking at previous opponents, after Floyd takes Alvarez to school then come explain to me/us how Trout will outbox Floyd?

I actually think Trout would have a good chance against Mayweather - he's not in the same league skill wise but it's just a combination of being quite a bit bigger than Mayweather, the southpaw stance and the overall style that I think would give Mayweather a lot of trouble.

    @Witschnerd1

All because Trout could not hurt Canelo doesn't mean he can't hurt Floyd . Lets keep in mind Alvarez is a natural heavy JR.Middleweight just like Trout . Floyd is not even a natural WW Himself . I would not be surprised if we witnessed a Mosley moment were he was seconds away from getting stopped or a Judah moment where he gets rocked and suffered a knockdown .

Floyd has a low work rate so Trout does not have to try and outbox him , he can outwork him . Floyd will always be in trouble when it comes to fighters with very high work rates who can stay on him and and just continue to overwhelm him nonstop with activity .

We have not yet witness a fighter to do this because Floyd himself is aware of his own weaknesses , he's knows how to carefully pick his opponents . He's a clever guy .

As an example , Paul Williams is a stylistic nightmare and a guaranteed loss for Mayweather . Williams 100 punches a rnd and 82 inch arm reach would be enough to get the job done and the only way to beat Williams is to stand up to him and to engage with him because basically you have no choice , his hands never stop moving , Either Floyd stays there and chooses to get swarmed and give away the fight or hes starts letting his hands go and begin to fire back to get Paul off of him . No way in hell Floyd engages with him , he's just not built that way .

But back to topic , Trout vs Mayweather would look a lot like Judah vs Mayweather . Floyd facing off against a quick southpaw . Unfortunately for Floyd this quick southpaw is bigger , heavier ,physically stronger and nowhere near mentally weak as Zab .

2006 Floyd loses To Current Trout . 2013 Floyd def loses to Trout . Whether you choose to admit it or not ,Trout just has the tools to defeat him .

No, I mean southpaw stance, height, reach and jab.

Add to that his workrate and ring IQ.

Saying Austin would beat Floyd might be a provocative thing to do, but I'd bet money on Austin to give Floyd a whole lot of problems.

How many fights could I make up that are not likely to happen and then argue who I think would win.
    GGG over Ward
    Floyd over Froch
    Rigo over Cruz
    Wilder over Wladamir
I could go on all day. We would all have different opinions and no way to know for sure. I think Trout would lose to Floyd because Floyd has more Skill, if you think otherwise that is your opinion but we will most likely never know.

Well at least that's 1 thing we can both agree on .

No way in hell does Floyd takes a dangerous fight like that at this point of his career .
Sadly even A younger Floyd from a couple years back wouldn't even entertain a fight with Trout .

Trout is too dangerous for Mayweather, but Alvarez isn't even though Alvarez beat Trout. Ok. Trout is a nice fighter, but he can't pressure Floyd, he can't knock Floyd out. His only option would be to outbox Floyd. Good luck with that.

And Explain to me why can't Trout stop Floyd ?

Trout would be one of the biggest heaviest opponents Floyd will ever faced .

His southpaw stance , quick hands , activity , size advantage will give him a pretty good chance .

Like you said yourself , Trout is dangerous for Floyd

The ageing Floyd thing always comes up. Granted he probably past his prime, but his skill and boxing intelligence is so far beyond anyone else that I don't think his age is going to show against an opponent for a little while yet.

I'm not having a dig & not a massive Floyd fan boy. I just don't see any real signs of him becoming slow/stupid any time soon. He always seems to look a little flat for the first few rounds, but then gets in to a groove and stays there. Canelo has more chance than most, but I think Floyd may make him look normal and I honestly don't think Trout has what it takes. He admitted he struggled with how Canelo adapted and changed up his game plan on the fly; if that was a problem for him he'd be f**ked fighting Money May.

Trout can't beat an elite fighter like Floyd.
