He is not Panicking in terms of canceling the fight, he is desperate for this fight and he thinks Geale is a perfect fight for him for a World title chance, he will look for the KO though (Maybe saying opening bell is exaggerating slightly but you get the point) as he isn't sure he will be at his best in the latter rounds.

If Barker loses this, i think he will talk about it and use it as a minor excise, even if he wins he might still mention it as a way of making the win seem better.

From the sound of it, Barker's back never feels 100% anymore, luckily he is a tough man and will give it his best.

Fair enough. Its a big opportunity for him, fighting a weak champ live on HBO. He won't get another chance like this so I can see why he would fight while slightly injured. For betting purposes I wish I knew how injured he was. I thought he was a near cert to win before I heard he might be injured. He's got the height and reach advantage as well as the power and chin advantage.

I fear Geale will steal the latter rounds and win a tight decision if it goes to points even if barker deserves the decision. HBO seem really interested in Geale vs GGG for some reason. I hope Barker gets a stoppage win.

Yeah but do you think Sky & MatchRoom would allow it?

No risk for Barker.Geale can't break an egg but may very well steal the pillow fight with his speed.

I've seen Geale fight quite a few times now, and as much as I like Barker, Geale is levels above him and an excellent boxer imho.

    Geale wide decision.

Weak champ? He went to Germany to win his title, TWICE.

I like Barker, but earmuffing for 10 or so rounds doesnt make him special.

Barker is only going to have a fairly tight team over in America with him. I'm a bit dubious about someone in his camp talking about an injury. If it was true, I'm sure they'd be keeping it massively under wraps.

yeah but barker talks **** usually. hes recently come out and more or less said he didnt believe he was going to beat martinez. before every fight its "i know its a cliche but this is the best i've ever felt". hes probably injured but why would he turn down a few hundred thousand quid? if he loses he can always come back and make a few thousand on the domestic scene so its a fight to nothing really.
